Vikram Sundar is a first-year Computational and Systems Biology PhD student at MIT 👨‍🎓, interested in ML applied to structural biology for drug discovery. He completed his undergrad at Harvard University in math and physics, and did a one-year masters' degree at the University of Cambridge on a Churchill Scholarship focused on ML for protein/ligand binding. He then spent a year as an AI resident at Google applying ML to DNA-encoded libraries for hit identification. His current research, supported by a Hertz Fellowship, uses ML with phage-assisted continuous evolution to improve protein design.

We all know biology is complex.

Drug Response Prediction is more accurate these days as Deep Learning comes with more sophisticated tools than the previous Machine Learning models.

Predicting the response is a major challenge in cancer treatment or any other medical therapy.

Deep Neural Networks are built on the high-level neural networks, in the flexible, multilayer systems of connected and interacting neurons, which perform numerous data abstractions and transformations.
