Every year since 2015 we have been organizing Cupcake Eater Day in TUV Rheinland offices in Poland.
We bring lots of delicious baked goodies to our small “fair” and donate all the proceeds to the children from an orphanage in Zabrze.

We are back with Employee Spotlight series! Next up is Karina🌟 – Process Specialist.

Hi! I’m Karina and I have been working for TÜV Rheinland Polska since August 2018. Over these 4 years, I had a chance to take 3 different positions. All of them taught me a lot and allowed to gather valuable and useful experience.

I started as a senior accountant in a newly created AP team. My first task was to take part in a transition and migrating AP processes into the centre in Katowice. During that transition, I could not only expand my knowledge but also meet new colleagues and visit the headquarters in Cologne. When I came back to our office, I could share gained knowledge and experience with new team members and take part in process improvement and stabilization. Even though this was a very challenging period of time, I remember it with fondness and pleasure. Further, I took the position of a team coordinator.

As a coordinator, I was able to try completely new tasks and get closer to the team. Moreover, I could get involved in many interesting projects and activities. One of the projects was devoted to the implementation of the new system in AP department. The project has enriched me professionally and allowed to determine which career path I really want to take. Getting more and more involved in various activities, I became a member of project team and at the same time, I took my current position as a process specialist. My present tasks are very diverse. I train users, provide them with daily support and take part in implementation of the new system in various companies. I am very grateful to TÜV that here I found a job which gives me satisfaction and fulfilment. 🙂

Hi, my name is Wiola. My career at TÜV Rheinland RSSC Europe started in March 2018 as a Senior Accounts Receivable Accountant. Today, I have the pleasure of leading a team of great people and manage accounting processes by day 💻 and be a motorcycle enthusiast by night. 🏍

I’m happy to have a flexible and dynamic workplace. Having the possibility to combine working from home and meeting with my co-workers at the office from time to time is what keeps my wheels spinning. You may think that a regular day in the accounting department is repetitive, not even close! Having so many great specialists in my team makes it a bumpy but a joyful ride. 🙂

Remember when we built dog houses for local shelter at our company birthday party this past June? 🐶
(TÜV Rheinland is 150 years old this year and TÜV Rheinland Polska turned 25 years old! 🎉)
Well, it turns out that now even cats use them! 🐱
We're happy that we could do something creative and also useful. The effect speaks for itself and all the animals seem happy with their new houses. 🐈🐕

Today’s spotlight shines🌟the light on what it’s like working as a Team Assistant for the SSC Global Office.

Hi! I’m Elaine, the Team Assistant for the SSC Global Office. I joined TÜV Rheinland a little over 1-year ago, and it’s been an endlessly dynamic and solid first year. Every day, I work with colleagues across all three SSC locations: Germany, Poland, and China 🌏. I work 100% remote 🏠 and look forward to the opportunities to meet with colleagues in person, whether at headquarters in Cologne or our local office in Katowice.

As a team assistant👩‍💻, there’s always an opportunity coming your way, and you have to be able to adjust, learn new things and jump right in. My work is fast-paced and rewarding as I get the opportunity to get involved in different areas of business. I like being able to see how my support affects the big picture. A team assistant must be a team player - Different team members contribute different perspectives, and this synergy between team members can produce creative and productive results📈. I enjoy the intercultural work environment and collaborating with colleagues across the world.

Pünktlich zum 150. Geburtstag ist TÜV Rheinland in der gesamten Kölner Innenstadt unterwegs: Ein Jahr lang rollt eine der modernen Niederflurstraßenbahnen der Kölner Verkehrs-Betriebe (KVB) im gold-blauen Jubiläums-Look von TÜV Rheinland durch die Stadt. Die symbolische „TÜV-Abnahme“ der Bahn nahm Vorstandsvorsitzender Dr. Michael Fübi auf dem Betriebsgelände der KVB in Merheim vor.

On 23th of June 2022 we celebrated 150 years of TÜV Rheinland and 25 years of TÜV Rheinland Poland. 🎉🎉

Whole activities during the event were in the spirit of zero waste. The event location Rosarium in Park Śląski was not accidental.
In the park you can connect with nature🌳and better understand the idea of zero waste.

Participants had the opportunity to try some new activities and spent time together during several workshops for example yoga, making organic cosmetics💆‍♀️💆 and building doghouses for local shelter🐕 in Bytom. That was fun!

Today we’re sharing the next post of the “Employee Spotlight” series❗️ This month, we’re featuring Dominik. Learn more about his visit to our Headquarters in Cologne down below!

"Hi! My name’s Dominik and I have been working as Global Performance Analyst at TÜV Rheinland Polska since January 2022. In July it is going to be 3 years since I have started in our Katowice office, but it only was the last month that I had the opportunity to visit the headquarters in Cologne, Germany!

I spent one week at HQ, and I can say it was an amazing experience! I could finally meet my boss and the colleagues I work closely with but due to the pandemic we only saw each other virtually. It was nice to see all of them in person and to visit the office in Cologne which looks slightly different than our open space in Katowice. There is a whole TÜV campus where different TÜV companies are found. You can have a walk there after lunch in the canteen, clear the mind and enjoy nice weather while feeling the TÜV spirit. I felt that spirit even too much as I got distracted and started to lose my stuff (first my jacket, then my backpack… but fortunately I got them back!).

When work was done for the day, we visited Cologne a bit: we crossed a few bridges over the Rhein; ate different cuisines from all around the world and enjoyed walks in the city center and in the parks. Once we even organized a picnic on the riverside and we had a deep conversation about which side of Rhein is the right one (supposedly the right side is not always “the right” side if you know what I mean).
