Diocesan archive in Przemyśl (south-eastern Poland) is now open!

This is a key archive for a large area of Poland (called Galicia) which was under Austrian occupation during the partitions of Poland.
Vital records (births, marriages, deaths) which are kept in this archive include: Rzeszów, Przemyśl, Jarosław, Przeworsk, Sanok, Krosno, Jaworów, Sambor , Drohobycz, Jasło and many many more!

Voter lists.
Here is an important (but often overlooked) source for many towns and villages in Galicia.
These records are stored in the National Archive in Krakow, where we conduct research almost every week. If you need professional help researching voter lists for your ancestors' town or village, contact us via email:

Did you know that Kraków's [Cracow's] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Krak%C3%B3w
notary records start in 1810 🙂... and the best part is that they seem to be complete! 🙂
If your ancestors spent some time here they may be in one of these books! The pictures show only the indexes.
Each entry is a separate document (1+ pages) with additional details and signatures 🙂

Throughout Galicia (Austrian partition of Poland) record keeping started much later but they are still very interesting!

Original documents are stored in the collection of the National Archive in Kraków unit #29/878/0/2/5
