Ancient Egypt Standing Prosthesis: 3,000 Years and a Work of Art. The prosthetic, recovered by Swiss researchers at the necropolis of Sheikh Abd el-Qurna, belonged to a woman and was finely carved to make it aesthetically pleasing and comfortable. It's one of the oldest ever found.
