Healthcare at the Center – Intersectoral Responsibility

On June 25, 2025, Poland took a bold step toward a healthier future with the first expert-citizen consultation, “Healthcare at the Center”, hosted by the Chancellery of the Prime Minister, the Minister for Civil Society, the Public Welfare Committee, and the Institute for Patients’ Rights and Health Education.

This landmark event united key stakeholders to build a social contract in health—rooted in common public health good, trust in health policies, and well-being. This social contract aims not only to improve access to effective treatment, importantly it establishes a long-term strategy enabling citizens to live healthier lives. This fully aligns with European Programme of Work (2026-2030) - a compass for navigating the complex health challenges and guiding toward a healthier, fairer, and more sustainable future. By placing prevention and health promotion at the heart of the Healthcare at the Center, Poland can empower its citizens and create resilient communities.

is glad to be part of this dialogue, working together for a healthier Poland.

On , WHO/Europe emphasizes the urgent need to protect food and health policies from corporate conflicts of interest. Commercial determinants are among the major drivers of epidemic that kills 1.2 million people annually

⚠ The problem:

🔸 The food and beverage industry plays a huge role in shaping public perception and policy discussions around obesity.
🔸 Many corporations oppose or weaken policies that restrict unhealthy food marketing, impose sugar taxes, or introduce stricter labeling regulations.
🔸 Industry-funded research often downplays the role of unhealthy diets in obesity, misleading the public and policymakers.

🌍 Countries must take a stand against corporate interference and prioritize evidence-based policies to tackle obesity and improve public health.

Stronger governance and transparency will help create a healthier environment for all WHO European Region 👇
