We at Medica91 have just completed an exciting proof-of-concept:
A robotic arm, guided by an operator using augmented reality ultrasound, successfully performed remote ultrasound scanning.
This wasn’t just about controlling a robot.
It was the first step in teaching the robotic system how to scan autonomously.
Here’s what we did:
🔹 The operator used AR tools to visualize real-time action and control the robotic arm with precision
🔹 The robotic arm held and moved the POCUS probe, mimicking human technique
🔹 The system captured data to begin training an AI model for autonomous high-quality scanning
Next up? We’re using this data to teach the robotic arm how to scan like an experienced sonographer – without direct human control.
