The Twisted Chair Pose, or *Parivrtta Utkatasana*, is a challenging yoga posture that combines a deep twist with a powerful squat position. It's excellent for building strength in the legs, improving spinal mobility, and detoxifying the body through the twisting motion.
Here's a general guide to performing it:
1. Begin in a Chair Pose (*Utkatasana*), with your feet together, knees bent, and hips back as if you're sitting in an invisible chair.
2. Bring your hands to your heart in a prayer position (*Anjali Mudra*).
3. Twist your torso to the right, hooking your left elbow outside your right knee. Keep your spine long and try to press your palms firmly together.
4. Hold the pose for a few breaths, maintaining your balance and the twist. Then, return to the center and repeat on the other side.
This pose engages your core, tones your thighs, and helps improve posture. If you're new to it, take your time and don't hesitate to use the support of a wall or a block under your sit bones for balance.
