What do a Class V cavity, a molar cavity, and a cavity in the cingulum pit of an incisor have in common?

In each of these cases, I was dealing with deep caries, reaching close to the pulp. All of them could have easily ended with pulp exposure and the need for root canal treatment.

In every situation, working with a bur would have been challenging — both in terms of precision and access — which would have significantly increased the risk of complications and the level of stress during the procedure.

The use of air abrasion, more specifically the safe MAC preparation technique (a full sequence of steps involving caries detector and different types of abrasive powders), allowed for exceptionally precise and safe cavity preparation.
