Koło Lingwistów Zahra as-Sahra powstało w 2011 roku przy Pracowni Języka i Kultury Arabskiej, Wydziału Filologicznego UMK. Jest inicjatywą studentów filologii sp. lingwistyka stosowana język francuski z arabskim. Od początku istnienia, opiekunem koła jest pani dr Magdalena Lewicka, kierownik Pracowni Języka i Kultury Arabskiej. Działania koła mają na celu pogłębianie wiedzy i umiejętności studentów Uniwersytetu Mikołaja Kopernika z zakresu kultury świata arabsko-muzułmańskiego, wiedzy o języku arabskim, a także rozwijanie życia naukowego oraz współpracy naukowej z innymi ośrodkami naukowymi, takimi jak Uniwersytet Kazimierza Wielkiego w Bydgoszczy, Uniwersytet Warszawski, Uniwersytet Łódzki, czy Uniwersytet Jagielloński. Studenci nawiązali już współpracę z ambasadami państw świata arabsko-muzułmańskiego m.in. Iranu, Arabii Saudyjskiej, Kuwejtu, Kataru, Indonezji, Palestyny oraz Łódzkimi Siostrami w Islamie, Polską Akcją Humanitarną, Fundacją Amicus i innymi. Celem członków Koła jest również promowanie Pracowni Języka i Kultury Arabskiej, a także przygotowywanie przyszłej kadry pracowników naukowych. Students’ Society – a linguists’ group Zahra as-Sahra at the Departement of Arabic Language and Culture of the Faculty of Philology of the Nicolas Copernicus University. A Students’ Society of linguists Zahra as-Sahra has been established in 2011 at the Departement of Arabic Language and Culture of the Faculty of Philology of the Nicolas Copernicus University. As a fruit of the initiative of students of the specialisation Applied Linguistics of Arabic and French Language it has been supervised by the doctor Magdalena Lewicka – a head of Departement of Arabic Language and Culture. Its aim is to deepen a knowledge and skills of students of Nicolas Copernicus University in a field of Arabic and Muslim culture, Arabic language as well as developing academic life and cooperation with other scientific centres such as Kazimierz Wielki University in Bydgoszcz, Warsaw University, Łódź University and Jagiellonian University in Cracow. The cooperation has been also commenced with the embassies of Arab - Muslim countries, ex. Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Indonesia, Palestine and some organizations: the Sisters of Islam from Łódź, Polish Humanitarian Action, Amicus Foundation and others. The society members’ objective is also promoting Departement of Arabic Language and Culture itself equally as creating a team of future senior academics.
