A bit about Burdock...
Today I decided to clean the Land from dried last year Burdock plants, so they won't spread in the season.
Witchcraft is really intuitive and practical practice, because while doing my work I figured out how we could use it in our craft.
Beneficial and medicinal properties are widely known to herbalists but also common people. Famous Burdock root - medicinal part is diuretic - meaning it cleanse urine and blood. There is information that it could support a fight with cancer along with dandelion root. Root is also edible, a bit bitter - but quite good in stir fry when we have time and stamina to dig it out 😉
For magical properties - cleansing, protection and warding - a Burdock charm, buried or hung at a south door, was said to have the ability to protect homes and stables from evil influences. It is also added to protective charms and amulets to be carried when traveling. In American folklore, Burdock is a root often used in counter-magick--to prevent other workers from putting “roots” (i.e. curses) on the bearer. Infuse Burdock root in oil to make an ointment to relieve impotence and enhance male sexual performance 😉 , and many many more...
What I discovered today is how excellent is to use dry burdock burrs(flowers) in hexing! 😃 How annoying, irritant, vicious this plant is! My gods... I was cursing out loud 😃 "Velcro"-like hooks catch everything including clothes, hair, dog, and even bare hands. When you rip it off, it still sticks to your fingers or gloves. I was close to tears, believe me(we have a big Land and lots of burdock spread by horses last year). So i was thinking spell jar with a felt poppet inside, and lots of dried burdock burrs! And shake it, shake it! Almost no need of anything else, this plant will do the job! 😃 And as it's medicinal it would be a nice balanced lesson and correction for some nasty behaviour 😃
