First off, I just want to clarify that these are my personal preferences and what works for me may not work for everyone. However, I do believe that these tips can help you have a more balanced and healthy life
Number one, I would never take a sweet breakfast over a savory one. I know, there are so many delicious sweet options like pancakes, waffles, and French toast, but starting your day with a sugar rush is not the best choice.Morning is a period ruled by Kapha thus Kapha aggravating Ras (sweet) will lead to ras and raktavaha strotus dushti leading to increased metabolic disorders.
Instead, I always opt for a savory breakfast with some protein, healthy fats, and veggies. This keeps me full and energized throughout the day, without any crashes.
Number two, I would never sleep or sit ideally after a meal. You've probably heard this before, but it's really important to get moving after a meal.
Even just ten minutes of brisk walking after lunch can help with digestion and keep your metabolism going. So next time you finish your meal, take a short walk or do some light activity instead of just lounging on the couch.
Number three, I always start my meals with vegetables and I would never eat something sweet on an empty stomach. Vegetables are packed with vitamins, minerals, and fiber, and they help to fill you up before you move on to the main course.
And as for the sweet treats, I know it can be tempting to grab a donut or a pastry first thing in the morning, but consuming too much sugar on an empty stomach can lead to a blood sugar spike and crash.
Number four, I would never add honey over hot liquids and desserts. Now, I'm not saying that honey is bad for you, honey has many merits but as per Ayurveda heated honey is compare to slow poison.
And finally, number five, I would never leave oil on my hair overnight. I used to do this all the time, thinking that it would help nourish my hair. But the truth is, leaving oil on your hair for too long can clog pores and potentially lead to dandruff and hair loss.
