📌 What is a therapeutic contract and why do we make one?
📝 A therapeutic contract is a written agreement between the client and the therapist that outlines the rules of their cooperation - things like session frequency, therapy duration, financial terms and methods of communication.
Its purpose is to create a safe and structured space for personal growth and therapeutic work. It brings clarity and helps build a solid foundation for trust and openness in the process.
Usually, the contract is established after 2–4 initial consultations, once both parties feel ready to continue working together. This marks the beginning of proper therapeutic work.
🧠 Why is it important?
Sets clear expectations and boundaries
Helps build trust and a sense of safety
Opens space to talk about goals and responsibilities
