As a Holistic Practitioner I ask clients do they have the will to get well” ? This is often the invisible bridge between a treatment plan and actual recovery.
When a person doesn’t feel worthy of healing, they may unconsciously engage in self-sabotage, non-compliance, or “secondary gain” behaviors where the illness provides a sense of safety or identity
To uncover these deep-seated beliefs, you might consider asking yourself the following questions.
“What would your life look like if you were completely healthy tomorrow?” (This reveals if they fear the responsibilities of health).
“Do you feel you deserve to live a life free of this pain?” (This addresses worthiness directly).
“Is there a part of you that feels this illness is a form of protection or a way to be seen?” (This explores the subconscious function of the ailment).
By addressing the inner critic and the spirit, you help the client shift from “fighting a disease” to “investing in a self they value”
