My story as a Latina Business Owner!
Happy Hispanic heritage month! Aquí una boricua con una historia que contar! And yes in Spanglish! I love English as my second language!
Let me celebrate my success as a Latina who started a small business 6 year ago in Saint Petersburg FL.
~~~
Mi passion for handmade jewelry started at the age of 17! By then, a High schooler with a 1 year old baby, and tons of adults responsibilities.
I used to go to the local boutiques in town and windows shopping 🛍 because I couldn’t afford that beautiful handmade piece I wanted badly.
One day I told to myself:
I believe you are creative enough to create with your own hands a piece of jewelry!
I Went to the craft store got all the materials needed for the bracelets I wanted to create and without know anything about jewelry making I started to create.
Believe it, my first designs were not to beautiful lol, but I felt good, empowered and inspired.
I started wearing my jewelry designs and a lot of school friends were complementing my jewelry pieces and asking me to create for them.
I felt uplifted and inspired to start creating, then I Made my passion a source of income.
By then I didn’t know anything about healing crystals or Malas beads. But I was creating with love and inspiration. Since day one I felt a special connection between creating and my soul.
But years after I moved to FL to start a new life. Even tho I brought with me some material to continue creating Insted what I created was a “LIMITING BELIEF” ~that no one in FL was going to like my handmade creations because people and some other peso I knew they prefer but jewelry from department stores and not from me~😱😱
I believed that story in my head for many years.
When I moved to St Pete and started going to markets and seeing all the amazing creative community that were exposing and selling theyir creations I felt so inspired and started working on debunking that MF limiting belief that kept me in a cage away from my creativity for so long!
I started creating and applied for some Market events with so much excitement to be denied! Few applications where not accepted for the simple fact I did have social media, website or enough followers and exposure of my work, mmjum!!! The f**k!
I cried like a pendeja!
I did not give up until I finally was accepted to be a vendor in one of the best night markets in Saint Pete!
I remember like it was yesterday how I prep for that night! I used my light bill money to buy materials to create and for my set up. I borrowed a tent, tables and everything! I remember how i went to the sore looking for fabric for this le clothes that matched my brand colors 😍😍😍!!
The day came and I after my 9-5 job I went to the market to set up, my whole tribe was there helping me to set up. My daughters and my boyfriend at that time, my amazing Blue eyed now friend Cody!
Mi gente, The tens legs had a damage and was not staying up. It was so frustrating considering the safety of everyone. I stared crating and say f**k this. This is a sign that this s**t is not for me. I am going home. But my tribe and the event planet of the market was like nooooo, we will help you to keep the tent up and you will drop that frustration now and keep it up!
I am so glad I listed. My first market was such a beautiful night. As I share with you I am crying feeling all the feels I felt that night. So many amazing people stoped by just vibing and buying. Wow! Thank you Gracias Gracias gracias!
And that was just the beginning of so many many many other markers experiences. I opended a online shop, I created so many custom pieces with love and intention for so many people and I still.
My business journey has evolve into many different a ways of sharing healing energy. I still create custom pieces and create workshops for other to come and connect with their creative power. From those workshops there is some Participants that have stared their own jewelry business!!!
I am now in PR hosting retreats for woman in nature and offering creative and empowering workshops for women. Next month I will be sharing one of my favorites: Mala Necklace Making 📿
I can keep sharing my journey, so many stories to share 😍
I just want to say thank you God for everything you have given me along this years, for all the souls I have reached with my creations, words, hugs, positivity, intentions Gracias Papá Dios!
Gracias to all the souls that has supported me all this years to keep my dreams alive and thriving!
Thank you Thank you thank you thank you thank you!
So not give up your dreams, if you can see it and feel it in your heart, it’s yours, make it happen!
Believe in yourself and trust the journey!
