Instituto Cirugía Orbitofacial-Carlos R. Pou MD, FACS Dr. Carlos R. Pou is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology as well as in Cosmetic Facial Surgery by the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery.

He is also Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and other prestigious organizations. In 2007, Dr. Pou achieved the accreditation of his clinical facility and in-office surgical operating room, Instituto Cirugia Orbitofacial, by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC). This accreditation definitely distinguishes his practice as one that meets the highest standards and the only one presently accredited by this prestigious organization in the Island. Dr. Pou has offered his clinical and surgical services for a period of 17 years caring for children and adults in his subspecialty areas. These include cosmetic and reconstructive eyelid surgery, endoscopic eyebrow surgery, face and neck lift as well as facial reconstructive procedures among others. He also performs strabismus as well as orbital surgery in both populations. His main areas of interest are small incision surgical techniques to address cosmetic improvement of the eyelids, eyebrows, face and neck. Dr. Pou is one of the pioneers and has practiced advanced surgical techniques for lower eyelid surgery utilizing orbital fat reposition for more than 12 years. He is also proficient in mastering different technical approaches for strategic volume replacement utilizing injectable implants for facial rejuvenation. He has really reaffirmed himself as one of the premiere surgeons in Puerto Rico mastering this non-surgical facial rejuvenation skill. In order to be able to offer the full spectrum of options he has incorporated different technologies into his practice to attend facial laxity and skin hyperpigmentation and vascular blemishes, among others. His human quality and professional excellence had been the key ingredient to achieve a successful career and develop the prestigious Instituto Cirugía Orbitofacial.
