Here's my post on Baobab. 🌞 and I did a whole road trip. I wanted a pic with this majestic being, grandfather Baobab. We got out even though it was a risk, Buffalo not far, elephants, Dik Dik, and you know how the food chain works...it's was a Thursday evening. I stood next to this giant of beings and hypnotized. He said, we are the keepers of the inner earth, the satellites of the underground knowledge, the protectors of the mystic and the nurturers of the transient beings. The ones who are coming from the the unseen to this realm.
In coastal Kenya, there has been an attack of these beings, I heard that the Mijikenda consider them evil, because they house spirits. I can confirm that! However, are our indigenous people colonized by an old narrative, yes! When Islam and Christianity came to Africa through colonization the program was/is to separate the people from the land, from their spiritual powers. This the superstition that has carried on for 100s of years.
Baobab is a food source for all life, we call it Mutual, the seeds, Mabuyu. Am sure you're enjoying it as a super food in the West, which is the general strategy. Expense super foods are usually sacred to indigenous people but narratives such as "it's evil and bad" are promoted by the same Western forces.
