This medical mission provides citizens of Puerto Rico with no-cost health care provided by U.S.

¡Atención Utuado! 👓

Los espejuelos confeccionados durante las clínicas visuales de la iniciativa Salud en Tu Pueblo IRT 2025 ya están listos para ser recogidos.

✅ Si asististe a la clínica celebrada en la UPR, tus espejuelos estarán disponibles en la Oficina de la Primera Dama en la Casa Alcaldía, en horario de 8:00 a.m. a 4:30 p.m.

✅ Si participaste en la clínica en Ángeles, puedes recogerlos en el Centro de Servicios de Ángeles, en horario de 7:00 a.m. a 3:00 p.m.

✅ Y si estuviste en la clínica de Mameyes, deberás pasar por el Centro de Servicios de Mameyes, también de 7:00 a.m. a 3:00 p.m.

As service members begin packing up to return home, the Mayor of Utuado, Puerto Rico, partnered with the municipality and the 156th Air Wing’s food services team to host a special lunch in honor of the Salud en Tu Pueblo mission. The gesture was a heartfelt "thank you" for bringing three medical clinics to the town of Utuado, Mameyes Abajo and Angeles.

During the event, the mayor recognized U.S. Army Maj. Abbynet Quinones, who is a proud Utuado native, for her leadership and close collaboration with military units and community partners that helped ensure the mission’s success.

On behalf of our Salud en Tu Pueblo team, we extend our sincere thanks for the generosity and hospitality as we conclude our mission in the community.

Your new glasses are on the way!

Although clinics for Salud en Tu Pueblo IRT 2025 have now closed, our mission to support the community continues.

During the mission, members of the Naval Ophthalmic Readiness Activity(NORA) Yorktown team crafted more than 1,000 prescription glasses on site to help improve vision for residents of Utuado. If you received an eye exam and were fitted for glasses, we are committed to making sure they reach you.

Glasses are available for pickup at:

🕘Now through 3 p.m. on June 8

If you're unable to pick up your glasses today, prior to 3 p.m., you can also coordinate pickup at one of the following locations:

📍Centro de Servicios Múltiples, Ángeles

Why we serve.

As Salud en Tu Pueblo IRT 2025 comes to a close, we look back with gratitude for the moments that defined this mission, not just the procedures performed or the services provided, but the connections made.

We serve to make a difference in the lives of others. We serve to bring care where it is needed most, and we serve to learn, grow and strengthen our ability to respond, wherever the mission takes us next.

From each smile, handshake and shared story, we leave Utuado with a deeper understanding of the community and a renewed sense of purpose. These are the moments that remind us why we do what we do.

Thank you to every unit, community partner and organization who made this mission possible. Most importantly, to our patients, thank you for allowing us to serve you.

Please be advised that our satellite clinic at the Angeles Community Center will have limited services and an early closure today at 1400. Normal hours will resume at the main clinic, The University of Puerto Rico, Utuado.

Yesterday, we had the privilege of celebrating six talented students from Escuela Superior Luis Muñoz Rivera in Utuado, who designed the official logo for Salud en Tu Pueblo - IRT 2025.

As part of a school project, the students submitted three original logo concepts. One was selected as the official logo, and is now proudly displayed throughout the mission.

We are grateful for their contribution, it represents the spirit of collaboration that this mission stands for.

Congratulations graduates! Your hard work and talent has made a lasting impact, and we wish you continued success in everything that comes next!

The official logo of Salud en Tu Pueblo IRT 2025 is more than a symbol.

Designed by six students from Escuela Superior Luis Muñoz Rivera in Utuado, it reflects the identity of the Utuado municipality and its deep Taíno roots.

At the forefront is the guaraguao(red-tailed hawk). In Taíno culture, this bird represents strength, freedom, and resistance. It speaks to the region’s indigenous heritage, where birds of prey were revered as powerful and spiritual beings.

Behind the guaraguao stand the mountains of Utuado, sacred in Taíno belief as the homes of spiritual forces. Along with the rivers, these natural features symbolize history, resilience, and the deep spiritual connection between the land and its people.

At the top of the design is the Sol Taíno, a symbol that remains distinct in Utuado today. It represents life, energy, and the passage of time, and has ties to agricultural cycles. It is revered as a symbol of protection, renewal, power and life-giving energy.

Together, these elements tell a story: the guaraguao flying above sacred mountains, beneath the sun that gives life. It is a reflection of the connection between people, place, and culture; the heritage woven into the fabric of Puerto Rican identity.

We are proud to display this student-designed logo as the symbol of our mission.
