Just moments ago in northern Gaza,
In front of the eyes of the entire world… in front of cameras, false data, and the deceit of a ceasefire.

The child Zahir Nasser Shamya, a child who had not yet outgrown the age of innocence… went out searching for safety, only to find their bullets.
They shot him and left him bleeding alone…
And what hurts even more is that a tank passed over his small body, crushing him as if there was no soul within, as if an entire childhood held no weight…
They crushed him without mercy, without fear of a lens, without dread of a voice, as if Gaza is merely land permitted for killing.

Delphine School is more than a classroom. It is a field where children learn to run, to fall, to rise again. Where play becomes a language of resilience and sport becomes a teacher of dignity.

In places where childhood is often stolen by war, displacement, or poverty, the simple act of kicking a ball or racing barefoot across the dirt is an act of defiance. It is hope in motion. It is the reminder that every child deserves breath, laughter, teamwork, the joy of movement and the freedom to simply be a child.

Supporting schools like Delphine is not charity. It is restoration. It is justice. It is investing in futures that the world has tried to erase.

Let them play.
Let them grow.
Let them win.

The winter rains have arrived in Gaza and the Delphine Noels School has flooded. Classrooms are underwater. Children now sit in the cold, their feet in rainwater, trying to learn while storms drown their futures. Most aren’t able to attend at all.

Education should not be this fragile.

The winter storms are only beginning. If we cannot rebuild stronger structures before the worst of the winter sets in, thousands of children will lose access to school and the safety it offers. A classroom is more than a building. It is warmth, stability, and hope in a place where everything else has been taken.

Right now there is a blockade on building materials. Israel is preventing cement, steel and wood from entering Gaza. Even the most basic reconstruction for schools and shelters has been halted. It is deliberate. It is designed to make survival impossible.

But we refuse to accept that.

Wings of Healing and Compassionate Hearts for Palestine are working to support repairs and emergency reinforcement for the Delphine Noels School. Every contribution matters. Every brick, every sheet of plastic roofing, every blanket becomes a shield between a child and the storm.

Winter should not be another weapon.

Help us protect their right to learn. Their right to warmth. Their right to a future.

Where is the world in the face of these crimes? A woman from Gaza was r***d by the occupation forces, and a crime of this magnitude cannot be met with silence or the usual statements of condemnation.

We demand a real, clear stance and concrete actions that translate this outrage into deed. Silence in the face of this crime is a betrayal of humanity before it is a betrayal of Palestine. Hear the screams of the survivor, and the screams of every mother and every girl in Gaza...

The enemy is not satisfied with killing; they sought to steal what remains of dignity.

Your silence will not be forgiven, and this disgrace will not be forgotten

At Delphine School, learning is not just about books and classrooms, it’s about healing, too.

After years of war, displacement, and unimaginable loss, many of our students carry invisible wounds. Nightmares. Anxiety. Silence that feels heavier than words. We’ve seen children who flinch at loud sounds, who struggle to focus, who carry the weight of memories no child should have to bear.

That’s why, alongside their education, Delphine School now offers both group and individual mental health care sessions. A space for them to speak, to play, to breathe again.

These sessions are guided by trauma-informed psychologists who understand what prolonged fear does to a child’s mind, and how care, consistency, and compassion can help rebuild trust in the world.

Every lesson, every counselling session, is a small step toward reclaiming their childhood.

Every child deserves not just to survive, but to heal.

“Eventually, soldiers entered. “At least 80 of them,” she said. They separated the men from the women and children, stripping the former to nothing but their boxers in the dead of winter. The women and children were crammed into a small storage room, the men split into two classrooms. For three nights and four days, they listened to the screams of their husbands, fathers, and brothers being beaten and tortured in the other rooms, until finally, soldiers ordered the women, in broken Arabic, to take their children and “go south”.

Among the screams Nina had heard over the previous days had been her husband’s, as a soldier used a knife to carve the Jewish symbol into his back.” - Susan Abulhawa.

The doors of Delphine School have reopened.
After months of silence, our classrooms once again echo with the laughter and learning of Gaza’s children.

We closed when the bombings drew too close for comfort, when safety became impossible. But we never stopped believing in their right to learn.

Now, as Gaza’s children enter their third year without consistent schooling, we return, committed to restoring a sense of normalcy, hope, and future through education.

📚 Because even in the ruins, learning is resistance.
