Many people wonder why I only correct very little in yoga classes. After all, in many yoga training courses you are shown how to get your yoga students into the pose even better.

But having been a yoga student myself, I also know that it doesn't always feel good. Every anatomy is slightly different. Every body has a different story that I don't know. And most importantly, I don't feel what the student feels.

That's why I often try to give verbal cues before I show the student again directly and only rarely touch them (if I think they might otherwise harm themselves).

Not everyone wants to be touched either. Many students also feel worse afterwards because they think they weren't good enough. The most important thing is sensitivity, even if you can rarely please everyone.

ʏᴏᴜ ᴀʀᴇ ᴇɴᴏᴜɢʜ!

When I recently substituted for a Pilates class, a student came up to me afterwards and apologized incessantly. For the fact that she couldn't do this and couldn't do that because of her foot etc.

To be honest, I was a bit shocked as to why this wonderful woman was apologizing to me for not being able to get her leg into the perfect position or for having 5 cm less distance. Maybe I was also a little shocked because I realized that I used to be that woman too, once. Plagued with guilt and the never-ending feeling of never being enough.

But let me assure you. You are enough! You don't have to do anything to be lovable, you already are.

Dare you to apologize for what you are and what you can or cannot do. I give yoga classes to make you feel good in your body and to relax. It absolutely doesn't matter how far you can bring your leg back. Every body is individual. I also struggle with some asanas after 2 c-sections. This is all completely normal. We are all different and yoga should simply bring out the best in us, within our limits and possibilities and a lot of joy.

You are enough. ALWAYS!!!!

Due to our modern lifestyle, we are often very stressed and, especially as women, responsible for too many things. A study has shown that being a mother causes a similar rise in cortisol as being a paramedic or emergency room doctors.

But the professional world is also associated with more stress than ever. Together with an unfavorable lifestyle, eating habits and little exercise, trauma and a stucked nervous system the function of the adrenal glands can be disrupted. In the long term, the adrenal glands are weakened and produce too little cortisol.

However, after the menopause, the adrenal glands actually take over the production of hormones that were previously produced by the ovaries.

In addition, hormones such as progesterone, DHEA, thyroid hormones, melatonin, HGH and oxytocin decrease during the menopause.

If the adrenal glands are weakened, they are subsequently unable to produce enough oestrogen, progesterone and testosterone.

HRT can provide relief in some cases, but is also only symptom relief. Some women also cannot tolerate it because the adrenal gland, or stress, is not taken into account as the original cause even if these hormones reduce the stress response. Exception is, if structural problems decreasing the function of the organs.

One of the deepest human desires is to connect with other people.

Our brains are programmed to connect with others or to be part of a group. Evolutionarily it only makes sense, because surviving alone in nature was hard and dangerous.

When our nervous system is in ventral vagal tone, and our parasympathetic system predominates, we feel safe and like to socialize, spend time with other people and feel calm and relaxed.

When people pass away, we usually remember how we felt with them. Not how much money they had or how successful they were.

How they made us feel.

Unfortunately, this can sometimes be a little deceptive. For example, when we are in love but love the idea of the person more, even though we hardly know the person. But the hormone cocktail has us floating on cloud nine and so we tend to overlook things that we would otherwise dislike about a person or that wouldn't actually make us feel so good, bit knowing it deep inside.

Not every connection goes deep and it doesn't have to. Sometimes these connections are only very short, but they are still important and can leave an imprint.

Experiencing something in a community connects us. And that's what makes a retreat different from regular yoga classes. That's why I love holding retreats. It is supporting each other and the feeling that the participants and I leave with the other participants, that they will always remember.

Retreats are a very special experience in a very special community. Even more so if you have the same health challenges, for example.

ᴇxᴀᴄᴛʟʏ 5 ʏᴇᴀʀs....

today, since I successfully completed my first 200h Yoga Teacher Training. I learned a lot from .venky . He is not only a wonderful person, but also deeply rooted in the Indian tradition with modern approaches from his work as a physiotherapist. An inspiring master from whom I was able to learn a lot and for that I will always be grateful.

Since then I have completed over 600 additional hours of yoga teacher training. Each one has deeply inspired me and allowed me to grow. Just like my first own retreat in May.

Every yoga teacher is also a forever student. But I also learn so much from my students every day. It is an incredibly rewarding job that is very fulfilling and I look forward to many more years to come.

Displacement of the two upper cervical vertebrae, C1 and C2, closes the spinal canal in the affected area and causes pressure on the brainstem and spinal cord, which in turn reduces nerve conduction. This can limit the functioning of any (!) part of the body and lead to pathological damage, as well as put the nervous system permanently into sympathetic tone.
This can also lead to massive hormonal imbalances or problems in the uterus. Its your life force fluctuating here.

Subluxation can result from physical but also psychological/emotional trauma. Often already at birth.

In just about all of my clients, the x-ray has shown a subluxation. Even if they have not yet had any major health diagnoses.

The body is designed to move upwards and carry the weight on the feet. Many yoga students today have an unstable cervical spine, the symptoms of which can be exacerbated by the heavier weight and unstable posture. That's why I only teach Sarsasana in private lessons and only if I'm absolutely sure that the student is anatomically ready for it, really wants to do it and it's not motivated by ego (yes, I was there once too😉).

Because you don't really need it for the positive and healthy effects of yoga. But if its fun for you and your spine is fine, go for it!)
