O Dia Mundial da Pneumonia é celebrado todos os anos a 12 de novembro. O seu principal objetivo é alertar para o impacto desta doença na saúde global.
A pneumonia é a principal causa de morte em crianças com menos de cinco anos. Milhares de vidas são perdidas todos os anos por falta de diagnóstico e tratamento adequados.

👉A gravidade da pneumonia depende da idade e do estado de saúde de cada pessoa.

A vacinação é a principal forma de prevenção, conseguindo evitar-se formas graves da doença, e diminuir a intensidade dos sintomas.

Medidas de prevenção como a lavagem das mãos, e a adoção de estilos de vida saudáveis, como não fumar, são também fundamentais na prevenção.
