𝗖𝗮𝗻 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗿𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝘂𝗹𝗰𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝘀𝘁𝘀?
A new study in the 𝘑𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘰𝘧 𝘞𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥 𝘔𝘢𝘯𝘢𝘨𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 looked at how nurse training affects both knowledge and the financial tracking of pressure ulcer care.
Czech researchers assessed nurses’ knowledge using the Pressure Ulcer Knowledge Test (PUKT). Before training, scores averaged 74%. After online modules during the pandemic? Still 74%.
But once face-to-face training was introduced, scores jumped to 93%.
What this tells us:
🔹In-person teaching has a much stronger impact than online-only learning.
🔹Well-educated nurses are better at classifying and reporting pressure ulcers.
🔹This accuracy helps hospitals monitor treatment costs more effectively.
🔹It also supports smarter funding decisions at a national level.
Face-to-face education isn’t just about information, it improves care, saves money, and empowers nursing teams.
