Smoke is visible on the ridge beyond Castanheira de Pera from the fires there. There is no immediate danger to Purnam; but the planet is burning. Global warming from CO2 production was first suggested in 1856 and there were letters in the newspapers by 1905 about it. 😦

Abundance....if these all ripen I will have so many juicy, black grapes in a few weeks. Vines are amazing with little or no watering they still produce all of this.

Back from an inspiring three weeks at Tamera Community in Southern Portugal. They celebrated their 30th anniversary of the community in Portugal. Nearly 200 people live there now and it started in Germany nearly 50 years ago. Some of the original founders are still there giving a beautiful sense of the continuity of the search for peace and connection to all of Nature and to each other.

At last the river has gone down enough to put the yoga/massage platform down with the help of Phil and Merlin 🙏

There has been so much rain that the river is still too high to put down my platform. However perhaps the rain has helped the wisteria flower and, for the first time, my fig tree has lots of figs on.

At last the land by the river has more than small trees thanks to tireless work by Mat. Looking forward to crops from the new raised beds there and by the house.

In a couple of weeks I hope to re-lay the platform by the river to sit on and enjoy the river and the dragonflies. Also for meditation, massage, siestas and more! Sunny weather must start soon 🌞🙏.

Nothing more satisfying than cutting free dry wood with an electric chainsaw powered from the solar power system for heat over the winter. Even the sawdust can be used in the composting toilet.

The Living Room is looking good with the large windows and lights. As there is only one bathroom I have added a composting toilet. We have less grapes than last year but still plenty. Now is the time to make sure we have all the winter wood in for the woodstoves.

Just finished the Co-Creation camp here at Purnam where there were people from nine countries creating and sharing workshops. It is so good to see the place fully used for such a beautiful event.

Local Maypole dancing. Basically, a ta***ic ritual - weaving the ribbons around the lingam for fertility.

I try and do the agni hotra fire ritual every full and new moon when I am here. Tonight there was a beautiful bright moon rising over the hill. The weather is now good for yoga on the terrace each morning before the sun gets too hot.

The platform over the river and the one up the bank are not both finished and the space on the ground floor has been tiled and is great for sitting in the evening or in the day when it is hot as it is in deep shade. Finally the schist house now has a living room and a bedroom with a woodstove for winter. There is only the kitchenette there to finish now.
