Bodywork is a generic term for the use of touch (e.g., massage, deep tissue manipulation, movement awareness, energy balancing, exercise, and others) to either improve bodily structure and function (e.g., circulation and relaxation), or as a therapeutic modality to reduce pain and heal damaged musculoskeletal units. Central to all forms of bodywork is the belief that there are blocks in the flow of energy and fields that indirectly cause disease, and which, when unblocked, result in a return to the state of health.

This may very well be the "hug threshold" that allows your body to produce ample amounts of oxytocin, which is released in response to physical touch. The neuropeptide oxytocin, released by your pituitary gland, is a naturally occurring hormone in your body with incredibly powerful, health-giving properties.

It is also a key reason why the simple act of hugging is such an incredible way to not only bond with others but also boost your physical, and emotional, health. .

Don’t settle for the options that you can see. Create them as you go.⠀

Our purpose is given to us at birth, and it’s not so obvious at first. ⠀

The challenge is to find our purpose and to be truthfully engaged representing that purpose in all aspects of ourselves, regardless of what is happening outside of us.⠀

We might encounter adversity, challenges, distractions, and tests to confirm that we really want to live that purpose and that we firmly believe in it.⠀

But as we go, the world starts forming around us, opportunities arise, new people come to us, and a new sense of self takes over us.⠀

What you see now is only the product of your current beliefs and circumstances. ⠀

Believe in yourself, as you are the purpose manifested in flesh, and that external reality that resonates with that belief will start manifesting for you.⠀

If you don’t know about the 80/20 Pareto law, you must look for it immediately and start creating lists of everything in your life.⠀

I applied Pareto to my life a few years ago. I run 3 companies, in 2 of my real estate companies I had offices, secretary, assistant, transaction coordinator, and agents. And I was so depressed, but at that time I didn’t know why.⠀


I decided to give up on all that jazz, and kept only the business and clients but got rid of the office and the people (Don’t worry they were relocated).⠀

The next year, I realized my earnings were about the same but I had freed up 80% of my time and now I had time for myself, and enjoy life, write books, walk my dogs on the beach, etc.⠀

What was limiting me was only clutter.⠀

Find your 80/20 and restructure yourself.⠀

What is meaningful?⠀

What is purposeful?⠀

What is useless?⠀

What is harmful?⠀

Diaphragmatic Breathing is the primary mechanism to move your organs. If the organs don’t move well, the so called ‘core’ takes a backseat. How’s your morning sleep hygiene?
Using an alarm 🚨?
Do you feel the need to hit the snooze 🛏 button?
Struggle to getting going without a hit of caffeine ☕️?
How you start the day will largely dictate how the rest of your day will unfold, including how you will sleep.
Some useful habits for your start to the day;
👉🏻 try to wake at roughly the same time each morning, even at weekends if possible. The body loves routine - it keeps your circadian rhythm ticking along nicely.
👉🏻 use light in the form of a dawn wake simulator to gradually awake you. Using a loud alarm will shock your system, simulating the release of more cortisol that’s necessary.
👉🏻 do not snooze. Maybe roll around a little and stretch out, but look to sit up out of bed ASAP and start moving your body. Start with the neck and work your way down the body moving every joint. Pay special attention to your spine. Added in a few press ups and squats as well. This will free up the body and start to wake you up whilst stimulating your metabolism, along with the production of hormones and neurotransmitters.
👉🏻 make your bed. Keeping good routines such as making your bed help establish a cycle of good habits - it becomes infectious!
Rise to the occasion folks...life becomes a whole lot easier 😉

IS STRESS DERAILING YOUR HEALTH?
In my time working as a health and fitness professional it’s become evident that the biggest struggle for many is their stress levels.
Working too much or not enjoying it, tricky relationships, poor diet, over training - all cause physical and mental stress.
Stressing the body through physical means can have both positive and negative effects. Pushing yourself to extremes on a regular bases, combined with other factors such as an inadequate diet or heavy work load will cause the body to break down. Injury and illness is almost a certainty.
When your feeling a little overwhelmed, take a step back, breath, and looking for a solution that’s going to reduce the stressors or mind and body one step at a time.
Managing stress levels via alternative means such as yoga, meditation, ti chi, and other less assertive methods of movement can be a great way to bring balance and lower those cortisol levels.
And remember, most of the s**t we stress about doesn’t even matter...we just need to let go 😉
