Preparing for retirement is a shared responsibility between employees and employers — and in Europe, there is still a gap between expectations and reality.
Research shows that employers and employees often have different views on retirement. In many European countries, employers tend to expect people to work longer, while employees often prefer to retire earlier. At the same time, gaps in savings and access to pension schemes mean that not everyone feels equally prepared for retirement.
This highlights the importance of stronger collaboration:
🤝 Employers supporting longer and healthier careers
📚 Providing clear information on pensions and financial planning
🧭 Employees actively engaging with their retirement options
Bridging this gap is key to ensuring a fair and sustainable transition into retirement for everyone.
Through the PATH Project, partners from Madeira, Hungary, Cyprus, Norway and France work together to support both organisations and individuals in preparing for an active and secure retirement.
