The elite field for the FLYCARB 5km keeps getting stronger, we now have:

One of those athletes on the start line is Charlie Brisley.

Charlie has a PB of 13:53, but arrives in serious shape after clocking a huge 62:39 half marathon. With that base behind him, he’ll be lining up in Colchester with one goal in mind: taking down his PB.

The FLYCARB 5km is now just 6 weeks away, with paced races from sub-14 through to sub-30, giving runners of all levels the chance to chase something special.

Alex Milne | 50km World Champion 🏆

Alex “the magician” Milne has just pulled one almighty rabbit out of the hat.

The 🇬🇧 Team GB international stormed to the 50km World Title, setting a new European Record of 2:46:09, beating the previous record of 2:47:32 — that’s 3:19/km (5:21 per mile) for 50km.

In the heat of Delhi, India, Alex leaned on BICARRB to help buffer muscle acidity and delay fatigue. With 4500mg of sodium, the added electrolytes also helped him fight off cramp and stay hydrated in brutal conditions.

Just to recap, everyone’s favourite ultra athlete is now:

New research: Bicarb improves recovery 📈

When you do high-intensity exercise, your muscles produce hydrogen ions (the acid part of lactate)

This lower muscle pH and causes fatigue (that burning feeling) 😣

Lex Revell-Lewis | 🇳🇿 400m Residents Record

Lex Revell-Lewis was the first New Zealander to break 46 seconds for 400m. The first Kiwi to truly fly! 🪶

In 2025 he ran 45.88 in Australia to break the crown and last weekend he became the first Kiwi to break 46 on New Zealand soil, clocking 45.96 at the New Zealand National Championships to take the crown 👑

What made the performance even more impressive was that it was largely solo. Lex was out in front, chasing the clock rather than competitors, which suggests there is even more in the tank 📈

Lex has been using FLYCARB’s BICARRB in training, but the weekend marked the first time he deployed it in a race, and it’s fair to say it worked.

Lex had this to say:

Sub-4 Minute Milers: FLYCARB Renewal 📈

Luca Hamblen | National XC – U20 Super Sprint Champ 🏆

Luca Hamblen is your National Cross Country U20 Super Sprint Champion.

The Aldershot man was on a mission. From the gun, he dropped a cog and surged into what proved to be an insurmountable lead.

Luca passed the FLYCARB gates in a cool 2:44, equivalent to a 2:37 1km, a few tenths faster than senior men’s winner Hugo Milner.

Despite going full lactic, the BICARRB magic helped Luca bounceback and deliver a composed performance in the 10km race, finishing 25th overall and helping AFD claim team gold.

Take a bow, Luca. You are the lactic king.

Connie Jenneson | National XC Super Sprint Champ 🏆

Connie Jenneson is your National Cross Country U20 Super Sprint Champion.

Connie proved to be one of the National Super Sprint’s most shrewd tacticians.

She sat in the pack until 30m to go before unleashing a big kick to the line, surging through the FLYCARB flags to claim her £100.

Despite that lactic effort, the Buxton AC athlete still managed to finish in an impressive top 30.
