Charlie Chambers | European Lead 🥣

Charlie Chambers stormed to victory in the BMC A Race at Trafford, clocking 1:47.7 over 800m.

That time makes him the fastest U18 in Europe this year, the second-fastest 16-year-old in British history, and secures the qualifying time for the U18 World Championships 📈

🗣️ Charlie on the race:

“I sat in the pack, went at 150 and never looked back. Flew down the home straight and took the win. It’s exactly why I use FLYCARB.”

A performance like this comes from Charlie’s hard work, talent and great coaching setup. We’re just proud to give him the edge on top 🥣

Great to officially welcome Charlie to the Team, and fuel him with the buffering power of the people’s bicarb for 2026.

Ronan Keenan | Athlete of the Week 🥣

On Saturday, Ronan Keenan broke the 2-minute 800m barrier for the first time at the Belfast Classic, taking the win in style.

A special moment for any young athlete 📈

Ronan’s sub-2 timeline ⌛
🚧 One week earlier, Ronan ran 2:00.56, agonisingly close to the barrier.
🥣 A week later, he came to the BICARRB stand, bought one portion, and took it 2 hours before his race.

The result?
🎯 A near 2-second PB: 1:58.75 😪

He came back to the stand afterwards and bought a 10-pack 😂

In sport, there is often a fine line between success and failure. BICARRB is a science-backed marginal gain designed to help athletes find that edge and break PBs 🥣

Bicarb for Repeated High-Intensity Efforts 🥣

Most people think of bicarb as a supplement for one all-out effort 🏃‍♀️

♻️ But the salty sauce also comes to life when you have to go hard, recover, and then go hard again.

Think of a cycling stage race, HYROX, or multiple heats, throws and jumps on the track 🚲🏋️‍♀️

In one study, athletes completed two all-out bike efforts, separated by just 5 minutes of active recovery.

With placebo, performance dropped hard in effort two:
📉 11% less work completed
📉 8% drop in peak power

🥣 With bicarb athletes maintained performance, completing 5% more work in the second effort compared with placebo.

That matters for any sport built around repeated high-intensity work.

BICARRB helps enhance your body’s buffering system, helping you push back against the burn and produce power when others start to fade.

Records Fall at the Belfast Classic 🥣

Yesterday returned to the Belfast Classic. The track meet is part of the World Athletics Continental Tour Challenger series, but has a proper community feel 🙏

You really can’t beat the Northern Irish welcome from team .christie and the team 🔝

We had an amazing day speaking to athletes, and even better, seeing so many FLYCARB-fuelled PBs across the day 🥣😍

Our own highlight was helping pace Henry McLuckie, as he broke the legendary Steve Ovett's 39-year-old stadium 3000m record 😪

🎯 The old record stood at 7:44.83. Henry ran 7:43.64!

And we definitely needed the BICARRB ourselves, backing that up by pacing two more 3000m races at 2:47/km and 2:55/km pace.

We also brought almost double the stock we had last year… and didn’t bring any home! The movement is working 📈

Thank you, Belfast. Same again next year? 🥣

Kev Campbell took the Scottish 5km title in style on Saturday.l 🤝

The Camuslang Harrier, best known for his exploits in the longer distances, took the race out hard and didn't look back 🟥⬜

Using the salty magic of BICARRB to help him, he powered through the tape in 14:01 to claim the Scottish 👑

Scores on the doors:

How the elites fuelled London: lots of carbs & bicarb? 🥣

Sunday’s record-breaking London Marathon was incredible in many ways, but the data on how the best athletes fuelled caught plenty of attention! 📈

Simple breakfasts (e.g. toast and honey) made headlines, as did reports of athletes consuming up to 120 g of carbs per hour (480 calories) 🍯🍞

But there is another detail. Many athletes, including some of the fastest, reportedly took bicarbonate supplements on race morning 👀🥣

❓❓❓ Pre-London, we had a lot of messages asking whether BICARRB makes sense for the marathon. Now you have your answer....

So why use bicarb in an endurance event like the marathon?

1️⃣ Buffering fatigue
It enhances the body’s buffering capacity, helping delay fatigue during the most demanding phases of the race. Research suggests performance gains of around 1.4%.

2️⃣ Sodium loading🧂Bicarbonate is also a significant sodium source. 12 g provides around 3,300 mg of sodium

So, if you are looking for the performance benefits of bicarb, or something to deliver a big sodium boost: Try BICARRB 🤝

All the benefits of bicarb, easy to digest, with flavours and at an affordable price 🥣

London Marathon Data Deep Dive 📋🤓

Sunday’s London Marathon was historic. We saw a sub-2-hour clocking in the men’s race for the first time ever, with the man himself taking bicarbonate 🥣

But looking beyond the elites, Josh from FLYCARB has analysed every single result from the London Marathon to draw out some fascinating insights 📈📊

There’s a treasure trove of data from the mass race, and it tells an interesting story 🤔

One standout finding: women hold their pace better than men in the second half of the marathon, perhaps no surprise there. 🏃‍♀️💨

Another insight is that the distribution of finish times isn’t as smooth as you might expect. There are clear spikes in the number of people finishing just under “nice” round numbers 🎯

It goes to show that we’re all motivated by arbitrary milestones. So if you want to achieve something, set a goal — and go after it 🤝

Take a look at more analysis, including some very suspicious splits (👀), here:

FLYCARB 5KM | Sunshine, Records & PBs 🥣

Yesterday we hosted our first ever race, in collaboration with our partners >tempo.

We saw two course records, 13:51 in the men’s race and 16:00 in the women’s, as well as 23 sub-15:00 5kms and 5 women under 17:00. There were too many PBs to count!
Mission accomplished 🤝

We hope you enjoyed the sun, atmosphere and our brilliant pacers! ☀️🏃🏻‍♂️

The FLYCARB 5KM started with a simple idea. Put on fast, well paced races where people can run PBs, whatever their level.

At FLYCARB, we are trying to make performance enhancing products more accessible, and we wanted the same feeling to come through in the event. We hope you enjoyed the atmosphere 🥣

Thanks to >tempo for all their work behind the scenes. They are working with Sublime Timing to finalise the results, which are live but provisional for now 📋

5 Supplements Work, state the IOC 🔝

This week FLYCARB went to the London Marathon Expo.

There were 100s of stands with big promises about “game-changing products” that will revolutionise your running 👀

But, how much of this is actually backed by a robust evidence base? 📋

According to the International Olympic Committee, there are just five supplements consistently shown to improve performance:
☕ Caffeine
🥣 Sodium bicarbonate (bicarb)
🫜 Nitrate
◽Beta-alanine
🏋️‍♂️Creatine

At FLYCARB, we focus on what’s proven, not just what’s popular. That’s why we built BICARRB and CAFCARB that deliver 2 of the ‘big five’.

Taking bicarb isn’t new, but our delivery mechanism that prevents GI issues is.

🥣 BICARRB works by buffering the acidity that builds up when intensity rises and the burn kicks in. By stabilising pH levels in your muscles, it helps you sustain high effort for longer.

🍑 CAFCARB combines bicarb & caffeine, two of the most evidence-backed supplements. Giving a dual buffer & boost, that buffers fatigue and reduces the perception of effort.

The nutrition space can feel overwhelming, and our advice is to always follow the science.

Follow people like who provide great advice and discuss the latest research.

Bicarb 🆚 Super shoes 🤺

Sometimes talking about performance benefits in % can feel pretty abstract…

So we compared bicarb to carbon racing shoes for a fun little benefit-cost comparison 💰

When the Nike Vaporfly 4% first burst onto the scene, the marketing was spot on. But in reality, most carbon shoes have been shown to deliver around 2–3% improvement.

That’s actually pretty comparable to bicarb 🥣

⏫ 2.7% improvement for events up to ~5km
⏫ 1.4% for longer efforts

So… how does the value for money compare?

With bicarb, it’s simple:
🥣 One portion of BICARRB = £5 per race

With shoes:
👟 £250 per pair (ISH!)
👟 100–200 km of racing KMs before they drop off! That’s roughly 20–40 5km races per pair

We ran the numbers for fun…

Cost per 1% performance gain:

BICARRB: ~£1.85 per 1% (based on 2.7%)
Super shoes: ~£2.08–£6.25 per 1%

👉 Even under generous assumptions for shoes, BICARRB comes out as better value per % gained

Super shoes changed the game. But if you’re thinking about performance per pound, call on BICARRB 🥣
