and I actually love being the one to tell you this š
Because I am here to tell you (and hopefully reassure you) that itās a lot more common than you may think.
Research shows that not everyone feels that instant rush of love after birth, infact up to 40% of parents donāt feel an immediate bond in those first hours or days or weeks - and factors like exhaustion, birth experience, hormones, and emotional overwhelm can delay the bonding process BUT without affecting your long-term relationship with your little babe š¤
So Iām here today, as a postpartum doula, to tell you that itās something that can build overtime through small, everyday moments of care, rest, and support ~ especially when your mental health is being looked after too.
From me to you mama:
š Youāre not behind.
š Youāre not failing.
š Youāre human. And your bond is allowed to grow in its own beautiful time.

Hi, Iām Christina, a birth educator & postpartum doula and Iām spending the next few weeks sharing the heart of my work so you can understand what I do and why it matters. š§”š§”
