Many of us work through much trauma often only to hit a wall and we cannot figure out why. We have looked at our personal stories and patterns, changed beliefs and behaviours but still we feel there is something beyond our grasp. And yet we cannot heal something we cannot name.

Trauma is layered and we are often told refer back to self and that we are the cause. When we are unable to name what is happening or the cause we are unable to identify the signs. However, there is another layer known as inherited trauma, and it is sometimes a part that even the individual has not considered or does not even know exists that may be the cause of challenges in their life.

A shared family environment where the parents are not aware that they are repeating inherited patterns and behaviour, certainly impact the children and the extended family circumstances.
The things that are not said, kept secret or are hidden can be part of a collective trauma that is so painful to look at that it is swept under the carpet for several generations.

Children who are abandoned or lose all their family in drastic situations may not realise that there is inherited trauma that can be passed down. Today there has been much research carried out in a field called epigenetics which is the study of how our environment influences our genes by changing the chemicals attached to them. For example; when people experience a war situation and they go through all kinds of stress, terror, grief and loss this can be encoded in their genes and is passed down to the following generations.

In this workshop we will be looking at:
- Identifying different types of inherited trauma
- What might be some of the sources of this type of trauma
- Where to start healing inherited trauma
- What are some of the signs of inherited trauma
- Different ways to work therapeutically

It only takes one person in the family to decide they are going to heal the inherited trauma to start breaking the cycle, so that the future generations will not have to experience the same burden.

She works with different states of dreaming as techniques to break old patterns and create new ones. Both the sleep dream state and the awake dream state with journeying are excellent tools to work with inherited trauma.

The workshop will begin by understanding the importance the Stone world has played in our lives and throughout time.
To connect to the world of the stones, we will then go out looking for stones that talk to us. After finding the stones that resonate with us we will decorate them with the story they are telling us.
Finally, in the form of a Sacred Circle, we will lay the stones back from where they came, thus, completing the cycle.

A time of Harvesting includes many themes. Of course a time to harvest learnings, growing and dreaming from the season before. And a time in farming life to sorting the wheat from the chaff, finding seeds that are sustainable for the future and seeing what will see you through the winter months.

Spiritually, this is a time to see what you have and what you really need. It is a time of reflection after the busy summer months and seeing where you stand with yourself and others.

What is sustainable in your life, what is needed to sustain yourself and even more importantly what is in the dream of life for you to learn and grow with now.

Comparison:
We are conditioned and educated to be competitive, but this is not natural. There is no point in comparing yourself to anyone else on the planet because there is only one you. Rather, focus on yourself and your journey.

Over the next few days I will be sharing some thoughts for the day on how to look at different aspects of life from a new perspective and how to cultivate a Self Love practice.
