Having studied massage techniques and various styles with qualified and experienced practitioners, it wasn't until I spent a lot of time in the far east that my love and understanding of massage really developed. I studied under the guidance of master Dr Luan in Thailand and began an appreciation of how much benefit a regular massage can have on the profound well being of a person. I noticed how accessible massage is there and a part of their everyday life. In the west massage is often seen as a luxury, and not sought out as a real and valid part of medicinal and corrective therapy. The east and western approaches to massage can vary greatly, and both have an incredible benefit to overall health and well being. In many western philosophies the practitioner works towards the heart, while eastern based massages work from the center out also drawing on systems of energy work. In my massage I use a combination and fusion of many of the techniques I have learnt, while adapting them to each individual client and their preference. I am constantly expanding my skills by attending workshops, and reading up dated materials. I also keep a record and will review my client before each session. I aim to keep my prices affordable as I hope to make massage accessible to all. I am able to keep down prices by massaging at home and reducing overheads. The benefits of massage are numerous and are supported by many recent university studies and research by the national health council.
