Very excited for what arrived today!

to use at The Wee Honesty Shed 🥰

One game we play as a group in the shed, is to pick out a card and before cognitively answering the question, which we impulsively are trained to do, instead take a moment to share what we notice about our experience after reading the question.

What sensations, what judgments, thoughts are coming up? Do we like the question? Are we desperate to share an answer? Do we not like the question we picked etc…

And then we take a moment to answer the question cognitively, whilst also building the muscle of noticing our experience as we answer.

This type of exercise is a great way to increase our own self awareness of our experience.

As we say time and time again, you can only be as honest as you are aware.

The colours of our cards are related to different categories, ranging from light and easy, to quite deep. Each category has two levels of questions.

You don’t need to know what the colours or levels mean in order to play!

Not selecting based upon colour is a practice of surrendering...

The brave ones just close their eyes, and pick intuitively 😊

Often it is hard to remind ourselves of our true value. There’s always something to improve about our personality, and life. ‘Once I do or become this or that, I’ll be someone of value, I’ll become whole’. As if wholeness is something we need to grow into, to ‘earn’ somehow. As if we’re not perfect, and enough, just as we are. It’s our privilege to let those people we care about know how perfect they already are, to us. Speak up about those feelings. And don’t forget to include your reflection in the mirror 😉✨✨

Have you noticed what happens when you allow someone to speak, and you really listen? We seem to somehow have forgotten what it’s like. Oftentimes we find ourselves impatiently waiting for our turn to speak, even interrupting the other person to bring the focus to ourselves.
Our Radical Truth Cards aim to change this dynamic. The person who draws a card and answers a question can feel safe in knowing that they won’t be interrupted by anyone. Allowing someone to speak for as long, or short as they want, to go as deep or shallow as they want, while keeping your heart open is an active practice of metta, also known as loving-kindness. This is also an opportunity to let go of the need for external validation: for once to not try to aim for a result, to not impress, to be smart, funny, profound or inspiring. To share your truth, in that particular moment, as it is. Not as you want it to be.
Try this next time you speak to someone: make eye contact, and allow someone to speak for as long as they want, without responding or interrupting, while listening with all you have. Thank them sincerely when they’re done speaking. We’re looking forward to hearing how it felt 😇❤️

Do you know the Radical Truth Cards? 🤔 Our deck of cards is an excellent tool to help you to share your inner truth. It’s a simple concept: draw a card, read the question out loud and answer with whatever comes to your mind, as truthfully as possible, without any preparation!
