KAICIID The International Dialogue Centre (KAICIID) The Centre also combats all forms of discrimination based on culture, religion or belief.

KAICIID is an intergovernmental organization whose mandate is to promote the use of dialogue globally to prevent and resolve conflict, to enhance understanding and cooperation. KAICIID’s mandate is to foster dialogue among people of different religions and cultures to build bridges and instil mutual respect. Intercultural and interreligious dialogue helps build communities’ resistance against prejudice, strengthens social cohesion, supports conflict prevention, and can serve to preserve peace. As an international organization, KAICIID supports the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, in particular the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion. We implement programmes to overcome stereotypes in a long-term process that leads to a culture of dialogue that enables greater understanding of people of other cultures and followers of other religions.

The International Dialogue Centre (KAICIID) convened a Joint Session of its Council of Parties—comprising the Kingdom of , the Republic of , the Kingdom of , and the —and its Board of Directors, representing the world’s major religions: , , , , and .

Opening the session, Ambassador Almeida Ribeiro , KAICIID’s Acting Secretary-General, underlined the importance of connection and collaboration between the Centre’s Governing Bodies and the Secretariat. He noted that meeting in person helps strengthen trust and communication and acknowledged the “fundamental role that the Governing Bodies play in guiding KAICIID’s activities throughout the year.”

He further expressed his gratitude to the Honorable Members for their continued support and guidance, affirming KAICIID’s unwavering commitment to promoting its noble objectives with determination and enthusiasm.

As part of ongoing efforts to promote and strengthen the values of citizenship and among ’s diverse communities, His Excellency Aydin Marouf, the Region’s Minister for Minority Affairs, received a delegation from the King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Centre for Interreligious and Intercultural Dialogue (KAICIID). The delegation included several members of KAICIID’s Interreligious Platform for Dialogue and Cooperation in the Arab World (IPDC).

The meeting explored opportunities for collaboration and the development of a strategic between the and . Both sides discussed launching joint to foster and mutual understanding among Iraq’s various and communities, supporting national efforts to strengthen social cohesion and promote lasting across the country.

KAICIID Acting Secretary-General Addresses PaRD Annual Forum 2025
At the PaRD Annual Forum 2025 in , the Acting Secretary-General of the International Dialogue Centre (KAICIID), ambassador António de Almeida Ribeiro delivered a recorded message during the Opening Plenary “From Vision to Action: Faith in Practice.”
In his remarks, the ASG reaffirmed KAICIID’s steadfast commitment to faith-inspired action for sustainable development, , and .

He further underscored that food , , and are deeply intertwined challenges, threatening not only lives and livelihoods but also and .

On 11 September, Mr. Abderrahim El Ayadi, Head of the School Life Department at the Ministry of National Education, Preschool, and Sports, met with the KAICIID Arab Region Programme team to present the Ministry’s projects in the Kingdom of Morocco.

These initiatives aim to foster a culture of tolerance, peaceful coexistence, and mutual respect within educational institutions, as part of the national strategy to counter hate speech and violent extremism.

🤝 During the meeting, the Programme team expressed its appreciation to Mr. El Ayadi for his continued support to the Basiss Al-Amal Association – Kelaat Sraghna in implementing three dialogue projects supported by :

• Young Ambassadors Against Hate Speech 2.0

ast month, KAICIID was pleased to support the International Coalition of Cities Against Racism Youth Bootcamp, “Inclusive by Design, Global by Impact,” held in hashtag in partnership with UNESCO.
The Bootcamp brought together 27 young hashtag from around the world to explore innovative ways to make their cities more inclusive.
KAICIID took part in a panel discussion entitled “The Role of in Contemporary Society, Worldwide and in ,” highlighting the importance of fostering a common language between religious leaders, hashtag people, and to build cohesive and inclusive societies.

KAICIID also nominated two young leaders from the European Policy Dialogue Forum (EPDF) network to participate in the week-long training:

· Cllr Cylcia Manwa, an elected local councillor from the , and
· Sintia Lemegne, a KAICIID Catalyst for Cohesion grantee from , whose interview is prominently featured in the event’s video recap.

This week in Istanbul, KAICIID joined faith and development partners from around the world for the International Partnership on Religion and Sustainable Development (PaRD) meetings — including the General Assembly of Members, Annual Forum, and Leadership Meeting.
Under the theme “Faith-Inspired Action for Food Security, Justice, and Well-Being,” discussions explored how faith-based actors, governments, multilateral organizations and other stakeholders can work together to address today’s most pressing global challenges — from food insecurity to conflict and inequality.
KAICIID shared experiences from the field, including highlighting the impact of the Interfaith Dialogue Forum for Peace (IDFP) in Nigeria — one of the largest and most inclusive interreligious platforms supported by the Centre.
As co-lead of PaRD’s Gender Equality and Empowerment and SDG16 Workstreams, KAICIID continues to champion dialogue as a bridge between faith and policy, fostering partnerships that transform shared values into collective action.

KAICIID is proud to have convened a High-Level Roundtable that brought together women expert from 23 conflict-affected countries for a direct with policymakers in .
Hosted in partnership with the Ministério dos Negócios Estrangeiros — represented by the Honourable Secretary of State Ana Isabel Xavier — and the Instituto Diplomático, the discussion was further enriched by our partners at ICAN – International Civil Society Action Network and reflected on the 25th Anniversary of the Security Council Resolution 1325 and how the public and security sector can support the ownership of the WPS agenda by peacebuilders on the ground.
