Nikiski Yoga & Pilates Studio The Studio is closed while I am studying/training in Europe for an extended period of time as from M with a functional training approach.

We offer small classes with maximum 6 people, so that everybody gets the personal attention they need and deserve. All bodies are different and I enjoy being able to personally see that every body gets attention exactly where and when they need it. Our goal is to help you improve your posture, flexibility and strength so that your health and daily life benefit. Having that in mind we offer Iyengar style Yoga and Traditional Mat Pilates classes. The Pilates Method is a system of stretching and strengthening the whole body that combines body and mind equally.. "You are as young as the flexibility of your spine," was a Joe Pilates adage. In each exercise one's awareness is turned on the whole body. All exercises are safe and can be adapted to one's age and condition. "One's body never reaches the end of growing and integrating with the Pilates method"
Named after its creator, Joseph Pilates, the method focuses on Strength, Stretch, Stability, & Stamina. The method was originally created during WWI as a way to rehabilitate wounded soldiers from their hospital beds, and it has developed over time to encompass all bodies! Joseph Pilates' original NYC studio was opened in 1926. Since then, the Pilates Method has gained mainstream popularity and is currently used by athletes for sports conditioning, professional dancers as a way to strengthen their center of gravity, and as well as everyday people wanting to increase core strength and take control of their health. It is also used as a form of therapy and rehabilitation. A consistent practice of 2-3 sessions weekly will help to increase strength, flexibility, and stamina resulting in slender thighs, a flat abdomen, and toned arms.
