I understand that online yoga has increased dramatically over the last 6 years. I think it’s wonderful for convenience of practice. I remember in my early days of yoga, I would do a DVD of a practice on the days I couldn’t get to a class.
However there’s a different experience when you practice in the line of sight 👀 of your teacher. They will give you verbal or touch corrections, their energy and the energy of the people around you will carry you further and deeper into yogic experiences. I’m not against online yoga I think it has made yoga extremely accessible, but on the other hand I strongly advocate for in person teachings, it will change so many aspects of your practice. 🙏

No It’s not a zombie Zoe yogi! It was literally my posture before I started doing yoga… after years spent in jobs with repetitive strain. For the first 2 years of my working life I was 8hours standing, then came promotions to seated desk jobs, yep seated for 8-10hrs a day. Gravity was getting the best of me! No wonder I had chronic knee pain and intermittent foot, back and shoulder pain.
However since starting yoga, from the simple postures of tadasana and warriors I started to correct a bunch of misaligned structures. I became free of daily physical pain…. Yoga seemed like it was magic! 🤩
I then went on to study Biomechanics with Corrective Exercise Methods for improving functional movement health (the “why” behind yoga working).

For the last 2 months we have been trialling a new weekly class focussed on techniques to Progress Arm Balances (Yoga), it’s been amazing to see dramatic changes in just 6-7 weeks.
Previously we taught this as a workshop every 3-4months but what we have noticed that it’s gradually repetition and daily practice that really makes the difference.

As the peak of summer heat passes once again, we find ourselves shifting into a different phase of interaction. September almost feels like a new beginning, a new year in itself, yet carries the scent of the familiar. The steady balanced routines begin again. Planning the week of work and of service, moments to move and meditate, moments to be and to do....

We are absolutely blessed to welcome Tammy Williams as a guest teacher to Ministry of Yoga this September.
Tammy has an extensive background, teaching yoga and mindfulness for more than 20years including Yoga Teacher Trainings across Australia and New Zealand. Back in 2013, Melbourne, Australia Tammy guided Zoe through her first 200hr Power Vinyasa teacher training, sending Zoe onto the path of teaching.
There is something very special energetically when a teacher and student circle back together in the practices of yoga. 💫

Looking for a place to practice yoga in the town centre of Lisbon, Portugal? Whilst traveling in 2013, Zoe the founder of Ministry of Yoga planted a Sankulpa (intention) to teach yoga everyday in Lisbon. It took 18months to move life from Australia and another 5 months to find a space, this came to fruition when she opened a small studio in Rossio, January 2016....

An authentic yoga studio in Lisbon Portugal. A place that puts the yogis and practice as the centre of what they do.
