Back to those enchanted forest days of July — music drifting through the trees, barefoot laughter, and hearts wide open at 🌳💫

While wildfires raged across the north, it felt like a strange blessing to be immersed in the cool embrace of the woods — surrounded by children’s giggles, inspiring families, and a gentle sense of collective care-taking.

Guiding a smudge stick–crafting workshop for kids and families (my first one!) was such a joy — tiny hands, wild herbs, and so much curiosity in the air 🌿👀

Endless gratitude to Kim .earth.treasure and Naomi for bringing to life the .art.her.earth stage — a space that felt as beautiful energetically as it looked, woven with so much intention and love. ✨

Also to hermanito Luciano from .lab for his curation of the cutest festival market ever. 🤗

And to the fairy girls-gang (you know who you are) — thank you for the reminder of how fun, effortless, and empowering it is to be held in sisterhood 💃🔥

A tale of improvisation, surrender & faith 🪶 

The mysterious tricks of technology decided not to share this scheduled post on time… so here it comes, fashionably late. Better late than never! 😉

Guiding a workshop at LoveJam was such an incredible experience — probably one of my most spontaneous and improvised ones so far (no wonder, is all about jamming, after all).

The weekend before, at Soul Revolution Festival, the workshop had been so successful (with over 3x the expected participants!) that I actually ran out of the plants I had lovingly brought from Portugal. And at Crops Not Shops, the land is more hedgerow than woodland, which made foraging for suitable aromatics and tree species a bit trickier than planned. 🌱 

But where there’s a will, there’s a way! I improvised with what was at hand — and a wonderful herbalist sister (thank you, Bella 💚) shared her freshly foraged mugwort.

And here’s the magic: after the initial commotion, the workshop turned out to be one of the most rewarding teaching experiences I’ve had — a true lesson in surrender, resilience and faith! 🌬️

Deep gratitude to all the wonderful humans who made LoveJam so unique — during the workshop, at my trader’s stall, and throughout the festival: around the bonfires, in the sauna, through the jaw-dropping jam sessions, with the Britishisms, the magical travellers culture, the giggles, the cuddles, the tears, the silliness, and the love in all its forms. 🤎

✨ Meet Irene from .irene – a regenerative herbalist, land steward, event producer, and the soul behind Da Lua Herbals.

She brings ancient plant wisdom, coastal wildcrafting, a down-to-earth approach, and deep-rooted reverence for the Earth into her practice. 🌿

At , Irene will guide you through a beautiful, hands-on journey of Sacred Herbalism — weaving together a foraging walk and herbal smudging ritual. You’ll learn to identify and gather local medicinal plants with care, then craft your own smudge stick to take home.

This workshop is a moment to slow down, honour the land, and reconnect with ancestral ways of tending and being 🌍💚 Adults and kids 8+ are welcome!

Olá all! ☀️ It’s been a while since I last introduced myself here, so if you’ve recently started following my journey, here’s an opportunity to get to know me better. 👇🏼

My name is Irene Miranda, and I am the alchemist behind Da Lua Herbals’ plant-based remedies. I have lived many lives before becoming who I am today. 🪐

Born and raised in Belgium, from the love of a Spanish mother and a Portuguese father, I travelled and lived in many places in search of deeper meaning and belonging—before finally finding both in Portugal. Here in the Oeste, I now lead .vermelha.v, a seaside regenerative project with a naturally rebuilt house and a medicinal and food garden. 🌊

I host and curate creative, community-oriented events, offering hands-on workshops, retreats, and women’s circles—both at Casa Vermelha and worldwide. Infused with folk herbalism, ancient wisdom, and regenerative principles, my mission is to share a poetic worldview—one that captivates and reconnects us to our roots, to nature, and to each other. 🌿

But beyond being an herbalist, event producer, and women’s cycle educator & therapist, I contain multitudes. I like to remind myself (and others) of this because language can be limiting—we often condition ourselves by defining, oversimplifying, and putting things into boxes. Yet, we are all complex, multi-layered, and multi-talented beings! 🌌

What I share on social media is just one of the many "Irenes" that live within me. So, I invite you to look beyond the surface of the screen and meet the other "mes" out there—in this crazy ride we call life. 😉

PS: I made the difficult choice to limit most of my communication here to English for practical reasons, but feel free to reach out to me in any of my native languages—Spanish, Portuguese, or French—where I can often express myself with more depth. 💫🥰

Artistas! 🎨 No sábado 29 de março, das 14h às 18h, a Casa Vermelha convida-te a explorar as cores da nossa terra e a magia dos pigmentos naturais. A artista Micaela Jarast vai guiar-nos numa jornada criativa através das eco-artes, onde vamos transformar argilas locais em tintas únicas, eco-lógicas e eco-nómicas!

🖌️ Prepara-te para uma tarde de criação em sintonia com a natureza, começando com os pés na terra e terminando com arte nas mãos.

〜 Quem é a Micaela Jarast? 〜

“Sou artista visual e aerialista, formada na Argentina e em Espanha. A minha paixão por pigmentos naturais nasceu durante uma residência artística no Brasil, na Terra Una, e desde então tenho explorado este universo em várias partes do mundo. Já trabalhei como educadora em museus de arte contemporânea e em escolas Montessori, e há 5 anos criei raízes em Portugal. Organizo retiros de Arte Natureza e crio obras que conectam a cor, a dança, o feminino e os ecossistemas.”
