Brave Fish Yoga is the manifestation of the love, devotion and mutual respect between a mother and daughter and our shared experience of the yoga path.
Our dream is to encourage all students, whatever their ability, to feel a valuable part of this traditional yoga community. We are extremely passionate about what we do and are always keen to prompt our students to look far beyond the physical dimension of yoga and to move away from the “arbitrary standard” in modern yoga.
With over 40 years of collective yoga knowledge, practice and teaching, we have been fortunate enough to be able to continue ongoing training with some of the finest teachers in the world including Shri Dharma Mittra, Shiva Rea, Sarah Powers, Bernie Clark, Joe Barnett, Jo Phee and Paul Grilley. Clare has also completed her studies in the History of Yoga, the Ramayana and the Mahabharata at Oxford University Centre for Hindu Studies.
Clare - Founder & Senior Teacher
I want my students to attend their classes with the intention of transcending the limited ideas they have of themselves, their practice, and their communities. I believe in the power of practicing in a collective frequency where students can feel encouraged and supported by the other practitioners around them. I have witnessed the abundant physical benefits of yoga both in myself and in all my students, but it is my dream that the yogis I teach will ultimately absorb yoga on a much deeper and more profound level.
The emphasis of my teaching is to encourage students to move away from the “arbitrary standard” in modern yoga and the aesthetic questions such as “who is the best at yoga”. I believe that a more profitable and less dogmatic approach is to explore what the practice feels like and not just what it looks like.

I believe yoga is for everyone and the teachings of this ancient wisdom tradition should be made accessible to everyone, regardless of their size, shape, ability, age or any other perceived obstacle. It’s my wish to deliver these teachings with full respect and honour to the tradition of yoga whilst remaining playful and honest. I hope to encourage my students to trust in their own intuition and become their own best teachers by emphasising the importance of finding freedom in the practice and an ability to explore their own anatomical uniqueness.
My passion lies in delivering classes that prompt the student to investigate with curiosity and compassion the physical, psychological, emotional & spiritual edges of the self. We need to be brave enough to navigate the unchartered territories of ourselves, whilst knowing it’s worth the journey — because that’s where the real magic lives.
Regular classes are held in both the UK and in Cambodia, as well as offering online resources, workshops, retreats and teacher training courses.
