Dr Jeffrey Sachs; who previously served as a special adviser to the UN Secretary-General, speaks about this unfolding reality and its grave consequences for the entire world.
The United States has bombed schools and hospitals, including an elementary school in Minab, Iran, which resulted in the death of 175 people. Most of the victims of the bombing were young children between the ages of 7 and 12.
According to the humanitarian organisation, the Iranian Red Crescent Society, the United States and Israel have destroyed 10,000 civilian complexes such as residential buildings, schools, and close to three dozen health facilities. By 9 March 2026, the Human Rights Activist News Agency reported that a minimum of 1,245 Iranian civilians had been killed.
As the U.S. proliferates its policies of murder, it has turned to a religious framing to promote its interests. Within the U.S. military, language referring to
"Armageddon," the biblical "end of times," and the book of "Revelations," is now regularly evoked.

❗️On Friday, a US‑Israeli airstrike struck Bu‑Ali Industrial Town in Hamedan Province, Iran, destroying a warehouse that stored medicines and infant formula. The attack completely demolished the warehouse and its contents and caused damage to about 15 other industrial units in the surrounding area.

❗️US Department of War dismantles Pentagon civilian casualty safeguards as deadly US‑Israeli strikes kill hundreds

Senior US military officials warned last year that cuts to key oversight offices responsible for limiting civilian casualties could have dire consequences, but their concerns were ignored, according to POLITICO sources. Then–Central Command chief Gen. Erik Kurilla and Joint Chiefs Chair Gen. CQ Brown urged Department of War Secretary Pete Hegseth not to slash staffing at the Civilian Protection Center of Excellence and similar units, emphasizing their role in assessing risks before strikes and investigating deadly incidents afterward. Opponents argued that such oversight could save both civilian lives and military resources by preventing costly targeting mistakes.

Despite objections from senior leaders, Hegseth reduced personnel in civilian harm mitigation offices from roughly 200 to fewer than 40, including cutting Central Command’s team from ten people to just one and eliminating Joint Special Operations Command’s office entirely. The move has heightened scrutiny following reports that a US-Israeli strike on an Iranian elementary school killed more than 165 students, the largest civilian toll in decades, reigniting criticism over the erosion of rules intended to protect noncombatants.

The Pentagon maintains that the offices are undergoing “strategic reassessment” and will be integrated into combatant commands, claiming that precision strikes can still minimize civilian casualties. Yet tensions persist within the military, with former officials like Wes Bryant warning that dismantling these units risks both lives and operational efficiency, as oversight designed to protect civilians is dismissed as unnecessary by Hegseth’s leadership.

An Invitation, to be in Sacred Sanctuary

There is a space, an energetic field that will meet you where you are - in pain, fear, and anguish.

In this space you will be held.
Your fear will be acknowledged; not dismissed, not managed.

In the presence of this sacred space, we will sit together with whatever is here.
Not to fix. Not to solve. Just to be.

And in that being-with, something happens. The pain softens, the anguish lightens, and the fear releases. Not because we fought it — but because we met it; and finally stopped running from it.
