17 May — World Hypertension Day ❤️🩺
High blood pressure is often called the “silent killer” because it usually has no symptoms, yet it’s one of the leading preventable causes of heart attack, stroke, kidney disease, and premature death worldwide.
This year’s theme, “Controlling Hypertension Together”, reminds us that prevention and control are a shared responsibility. Individuals, families, communities, and healthcare professionals all play a part.
1.4 billion people live with hypertension globally.
Only 1 in 4 have it adequately controlled.
Most people don’t know they have it and early detection saves lives.
