Today marks the end of our 5-day Spring Fast journey ☀️

We break the fast with an apple 🍎 — and this morning, one of our participants shared a photo in the group with the following feedback….

“I was in a Zen place last night and again this morning when I woke up. I felt I was in a deep relaxation, in a ketosis state. I’m aware that I want to pay more attention to what I eat, how I eat, and how much I eat. I really want to prepare my food with love — and love for the animals too, meaning less meat and dairy.

This morning, I peeled my apple, placed the peel in a sunray formation around the plate, cut it up, and ate it mindfully — slowly chewing and watching the birds outside my window. I finished the second half slowly, savoring the tartness of the flesh, the sound of chewing, the juiciness and sweetness.

Miraculous! 😊”

It has been such a privilege to be a small part of this journey over the past couple of weeks. I feel deeply grateful to be in the company of such powerful, open-hearted, and unguarded women — it’s been incredibly inspiring 💪

As one participant said: “It’s a privilege to be able to fast — a choice to put yourself first and to consider not eating as an option.”

Its moments like this that remind us why we Fast.

Yes, there are a myriad of physical benefits — but what is even more powerful, in my opinion, is how it changes the way we view food. Eating with appreciation and awareness means really feeling how many beautiful moments and miracles have taken place just to make this meal a reality for you.

The sun and rain that nurtured it, the soil that cradled it, the many hands that planted, harvested, and brought it to you — all part of the journey 🍎

Life is a miracle, the food you eat is a miracle and you too are part of the great interconnected dance of life 🌱

How do we overcome all that “nutritional noise” being thrown at us?⁠ 😵‍💫

My advice...go back to basics and keep it simple⁠.
Probably the one answer you didn’t want to hear!⁠

In our search for health it’s not uncommon for our daily routines to become either overly complicated or totally restrictive. ⁠

Of course, having a diet or lifestyle that works for you is important, but often we end up doing so much it ends up taking all the enjoyment out of life. And what’s the point in that?!

For me, it’s been the simplest habits that have had the biggest impact - getting outdoors, moving my body (in any way that calls me in that moment) spending time with those who make me :)💜⁠

During our recent retreat we talked about the process of “undoing” or “unlearning” in order to find balance.

Is there anything you can unlearn today ⁠that will help you live with a little more ease?

Sometimes we get so caught up in pleasing others we forget to acknowledge how we feel. ⁠
We need to remind ourselves that it’s okay and absolutely necessary to honour how we feel. ⁠
It’s okay to NOT put others happiness before our own, because YOU MATTER & HOW YOU FEEL MATTERS.⁠

7 months with my little barnacle ❤️ - now weighing at enough to give me a constant dead arm and giving me all the material and life lessons I need for Roam.

So much reflective energy lately (also very seasonal 🌱) and trying to digest everything that has changed within the last year still makes my head spin 😵‍💫

During a five-hour taxi ride, I had the chance to really sink into a podcast with Bill Burnett & Dave Evans – authors of “How to live a meaningful life” (I’ve already ordered my copy! 🫣)

I’ve listened to A LOT of podcasts with Meaning and Fulfillment at their core, but I truly loved how Bill & Dave highlight that life is less about perfecing our existaece and more about Playing with it.
