Cerca de 150 pessoas, entre profissionais de saúde, investigadores, estudantes e docentes, participaram no 11º Simpósio em Metabolismo, organizado pela Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade do Porto (FMUP), com o apoio do CINTESIS – Centro de Investigação em Tecnologias e Serviços de Saúde....

Cerca de 150 pessoas participam hoje no 11º Simpósio em Metabolismo, organizado pela Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade do Porto, com o apoio do Cintesis.
A sessão de abertura contou com José Pedro Nunes, em representação da direção da FMUP, Elisa Keating, presidente da Comissão Científica e investigadora do Cintesis, António Albino, docente da FMUP, e Maria João Pena, presidente da Comissão Organizadora.
"Metabolic Fitness and Ageing", "Biocodex session - Energy Homeostasis and Ageing" e "Cellular Mechanisms of Senescence" são os temas das três sessões.
Após as "Flash Sessions", serão entregues os prémios aos melhores trabalhos apresentados ao longo do dia.

It’s tomorrow! Don’t forget that the symposium starts at 8:30 am. During the day the following sessions will occur:
☑️Session 1 – Metabolic Fitness and Ageing (José Pedro Castro, Teresa Amaral and Elisa Marques)
☑️Biocodex Session – Energy Homeostasis and Ageing (Delminda Neves, Paula Ludovico and Tim Schulz)
☑️Session 3 – Cellular Mechanisms of Senescence (Andreas Simm, Vítor Costa and Liliana Matos)
☑️Session 4 – Flash Sessions (Ana Luísa de Sousa Coelho, Hélder Pereira, Sílvia Rocha Rodrigues, Nádia Silva, Márcio Simão and Filipa Timóteo Ferreira)
Remember that the Poster Sessions will take place at the morning Coffee Break and Lunch. And…stay with us until the end because after the Coro FMUP, awards will be delivered to the best two Oral and Poster communications, at the Award Ceremony!

Teresa Amaral, Associated Professor at Faculdade de Ciências da Nutrição e Alimentação da Universidade do Porto and member of UISPA - LAETA/INEGI, will be talking about "Nutritional and functional status in the elderly, a picture of the Portuguese elderly population". Her Research interests are related to the study of determinants, screening and impact of nutritional and functional status dysfunction in adults and older adults.
