As a former Police Officer back home in Fiji, I continue to follow developments closely and remain connected with my batch of officers whom I was recruited alongside. I will always support the Force in any way I can.

One thing I am always proud to speak about is my previous work before joining the caregiving industry. Often, when I share that I was once an officer, the first response I receive is, “Well, I feel safe now,” followed by genuine curiosity about my past service. I truly enjoy meeting local officers here, exchanging experiences, and even receiving light-hearted invitations to join their teams—always a good laugh.

With that said, a heartfelt congratulations from Fiji Prime In-Home Care to you, Madam Batch. Looking back to the day we began our recruitment journey together—the struggles, the sweat, the perseverance, and the shared determination to make a difference—it is truly rewarding to see that hard work come full circle.

📌 CLARIFICATION: HCA TRAINING IN CALIFORNIA

For clarity and transparency, we’d like to address some recent confusion around Home Care Aide (HCA) training in the State of California.

In California:
• Home Care Aides must complete required training hours as mandated by the California Department of Social Services(CDSS).
• Training may be completed online, in person (face-to-face), or via a hybrid format, as long as it covers the CDSS-required topics and from a registered organization.
• Home Care Organizations (HCOs) are permitted and responsible to provide training to their caregivers, including in-house and classroom training.
• Official HCA registration is completed through the California Department of Social Services, which includes Live Scan fingerprinting and a state registration fee.

At Fiji Prime In-Home Care, we:
• Provide state-required caregiver training (orientation, safety, infection control, emergency procedures, and more)
• Guide caregivers through the official HCA registration process
• Maintain compliance with California Home Care Organization regulations

🌺As we kick off the year 2026, we are also implementing new state updates and requirements regarding caregiver training and certification. These regulations require all caregivers to be properly trained and certified before being placed to work. This is a state law that cannot be ignored or bypassed and must be followed by every Home Care Organization (HCO).

At Fiji Prime In-Home Care LLC, one thing that truly sets us apart is that we train our caregivers in-house. We ensure every caregiver is fully certified through required training and medically cleared, meeting and exceeding state standards before they begin providing care.

Sometimes when the world feels too congested for our seniors, when their thoughts become overwhelming, all they need is a tight hug of reassurance—to remind them that they are okay.

In caregiving, there are moments when we must think beyond medical advice or textbooks. Not everything can be prescribed by a doctor. When a senior simply wants a hug, that isn’t science—it’s connection. It’s about truly knowing them, empathizing with them, taking the time to understand their hearts.

Sometimes, when everything feels like too much for Mama, a tight hug fixes it all. It reminds her that she is not alone—that she is loved, appreciated, and that her presence is nothing short of a blessing. 💛

Today was a successful day as we completed our training in FIRST AID.

Our participants had a week to complete the online tests before proceeding with the practical training. They learned about CPR, compressions, and breathing, as well as how to use a tourniquet and assist someone who is choking in various circumstances.

These are everyday scenarios, and acquiring this knowledge may potentially help save a life.

For caregivers, possessing this knowledge is mandatory, as it entails having basic skills and applying them when necessary.
