Social jetlag often happens when your internal clock doesn’t match your daily schedule. As a sleep consultant, the goal isn’t forcing sleep earlier—it’s resetting the circadian rhythm.
Start by identifying your chronotype: are you a lark or an owl? Then use chronotherapy tools: correctly timed melatonin, consistent sleep timing, and most importantly morning light exposure to anchor the body clock.
Light in the morning tells the brain when the day begins—and that’s often the key step in correcting social jetlag.

Social jet lag happens when your body clock and your social clock are out of sync. During the week, you wake up early for work or school despite your natural sleep rhythm. On weekends, you stay up late and sleep in to “catch up.” That shift confuses your internal circadian rhythm, disrupts hormones like melatonin and cortisol, and can lead to fatigue, low mood, brain fog, and metabolic stress. Your body thinks it’s changing time zones every week.

I Didn’t Just Choose Medicine. I Chose to Challenge It.

I started as an internist. I treated diabetes, hypertension, fatigue, weight gain.
I saw patients come back with more meds, more symptoms, and more frustration.
I knew I could do more — I had to do more.

I began to ask: Why are so many of my patients struggling with weight? Why are they exhausted even after sleep? Why are their sugars uncontrolled despite medications?

I dug deeper.
I discovered the invisible cycle:
Obesity. Sleep Apnea. Metabolic Dysfunction.
I saw how each one fuels the other, silently and powerfully.

So I evolved.
I became a physician of root causes, not just results.
I specialized in obesity medicine, trained in sleep disorders, and immersed myself in metabolic science.
I no longer wait for complications — I interrupt the cascade before it starts.

I help patients lose weight for the right reasons.
I treat sleep to heal the whole body.
I optimize metabolism to prevent disease — not just manage it.

I believe in catching the whispers before they become screams.
I believe in breaking the cycle — and I’ve made it my mission.

Because I don’t just want to add years to life.
I want to add energy to those years.

Did you know there are 5 — sometimes 6 — types of diabetes?
Yes, beyond type 1 and type 2, there’s now a newly announced Type 5:
Malnutrition-related diabetes, recognized by the IDF in April 2025.

Add to that Type 1.5 (LADA) — a slower autoimmune form — and we begin to see just how complex diabetes really is.

And here’s the twist:
GLP-1s (like Ozempic and Mounjaro) aren’t just for type 2 anymore. Many with type 1 + obesity now benefit from them too!

We’re moving toward a personalized future in diabetes care.

After Ramadan, many people experience disrupted sleep patterns that can weaken the immune system, increase stress, and contribute to long-term health issues. It's important to gradually restore a healthy sleep routine to protect both physical and mental well-being.
Regular sleep and wake times help regulate the biological clock, strengthen immunity, improve mood, and reduce the risk of chronic diseases.
Prioritizing sleep is not just about feeling rested — it's a key pillar of a healthy lifestyle.
As we transition back to regular schedules, let's focus on building sustainable sleep habits that support our overall health for the months ahead
