A 21 year old Russian girl was allegedly drugged and gang-r**ed in a service apartment in India. A medical report said she had bite marks on her face and hands and scratch marks on her upper body. Later that day one of the accused took her to a hospital where he told a doctor that he had found her in an unconscious state in the neighbourhood. The girl who was travelling on her own had arrived in the town of Tiruvannamalai 190 kilometres from Chennai. Six men have been detained over the r**e and drugging of the woman including the hostel manager and her tourist guide. Sexual violence is rife in India with nearly 110 r**es reported every day but activists say that figure is the tip of the iceberg as most cases go unreported. : Times of India.

At least 80,000 Pakistanis have been killed in the US-led War on Terror, a study conducted by a group of international physicians’ organisations revealed.

A report titled “Body Count: Casualty Figures after 10 Years of the ‘War on Terror” was released by the Nobel Prize-winning International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War, along with Physicians for Social Responsibility and Physicians for Global Survival.
