🔔 Research Assistant / Postdoctoral Researcher Opportunity

College of Sport Sciences – Qatar University

We are pleased to announce the launch of a funded research project at Qatar University focusing on innovative classroom practices that support student attention, well-being, and learning in higher education.

As part of this project, we invite expressions of interest from qualified candidates for the following roles:

🔹 Research Assistant (RA)

– Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Sport Sciences, Exercise Science, Physical Education, or a related field

🔹 Postdoctoral Researcher

– PhD in Sport Sciences, Exercise Physiology, Education, Psychology, or a closely related discipline

Preferred selection criteria:

Residence in Qatar at the time of application

Academic background relevant to sport sciences, physical activity, or education

Strong interest in student well-being, attention, and learning environments

Experience or interest in research activities (e.g., literature review, data collection, data analysis)

Ability to work effectively within a collaborative academic research team

تساهم كلية علوم الرياضة بجامعة قطر في تقديم دورة التغذية الرياضية التي تنظمها الأكاديمية الأولمبية القطرية، ضمن سلسلة الدورات التطويرية لهذا العام.
تُعقد الدورة في مقر الأكاديمية بمنطقة أسباير، خلال الفترة من 26 إلى 30 أكتوبر 2025، من الساعة 9:00 صباحًا حتى 2:00 ظهرًا.

Excited to share a new learning milestone!

I’ve recently completed The Power of Making Thinking Visible (PMTV) mini course offered by Project Zero at Harvard Graduate School of Education. This enriching experience provided valuable insights into how thinking routines can deepen understanding and make learning visible across various educational contexts.

I’m grateful for the opportunity to learn from the world-renowned PZ Learning and Outreach Team, and I look forward to exploring additional courses like Investigating the Forces that Shape Cultures of Thinking.

A big thank you to the team at Project Zero for the engaging content and continuous support to educators worldwide.

وافق مجلس أمناء جامعة قطر على إنشاء كلية علوم الرياضة وبرامجها الأكاديمية لتكون الكلية الثانية عشرة في جامعة قطر.

هذا قرار مهم يعكس التزام جامعة قطر بتعزيز التعليم والبحث في مجال علوم الرياضة. من خلال إنشاء كلية علوم الرياضة وبرامجها الأكاديمية، ستوفر الجامعة فرصًا للطلاب لاكتساب المعرفة والمهارات في هذا المجال المهم. وبالتالي، يمكن أن يسهم هذا القرار في تعزيز الرياضة واللياقة البدنية في المجتمع المحلي والعالمي، فضلاً عن دعم البحث العلمي في هذا المجال وتطويره.

The Board of Trustees of Qatar University has approved the establishment of a College of Sports Sciences and its academic programs to be the twelfth college at Qatar University.

This is an important decision that reflects Qatar University's commitment to enhancing education and research in the field of sports sciences. By establishing the College of Sports Sciences and its academic programs, the university will provide students with opportunities to acquire knowledge and skills in this important field. Consequently, this decision can contribute to the promotion of sports and physical fitness in the local and global community, as well as support scientific research in this field and its development.

I'm excited to share that an article I edited titled "Effects of diverse resistance training modalities on performance measures in athletes: A network Meta-analysis" has been published in Frontiers in Physiology's Exercise Physiology section. This systematic review was authored by Zhipeng Zhu, D**g Li, and Longpeng Li. The study evaluates the effects of various resistance training methods on athlete performance measures. قال الدكتور منعم حداد، أستاذ التربية البدنية: "جودة التعليم هو الهدف الرابع من الأهداف الرئيسية للتنمية المستدامة. بالإضافة إلى التعليم الابتدائي والثانوي المجاني والمنصف لجميع البنين والبنات؛ فإن الهدف هو توفير فرص متساوية للحصول على التدريب المهني بما في ذلك للأشخاص ذوي الإعاقة، والقضاء على الفوارق بين الجنسين، وتحقيق الوصول الشامل إلى التعليم العالي الجيد. والتعليم هو المفتاح الذي سيسمح بتحقيق العديد من أهداف التنمية المستدامة الأخرى. وعندما يتمكن الناس من الحصول على تعليم جيد، يمكنهم الخروج من دائرة الفقر. ويساعد التعليم على الحد من عدم المساواة واحترام حقوق الإنسان وتحقيق المساواة بين الجنسين. كما أنه يمكّن الناس في كل مكان من العيش حياة أكثر صحة واستدامة. والتعليم أمر بالغ الأهمية أيضًا لتعزيز التسامح بين الناس ويساهم في بناء مجتمعات أكثر سلمًا".
