✝️ SUMMARY OF SCH. SABBATH

*Jacob the deceiver*

VERSE: "Esau said: - Is it not right that his name is Jacob? For he has deceived me twice: he has taken away my birthright and now he has taken the blessing that was mine. And he asked: - Then you did not reserve any blessing to me?" (Gen 27:36)

The fruits of a sinner versus the mercies of the Most High.
When God stated that we would become knowing good and evil, He knew that deceit, lying, and unfaithfulness would be part of fallen humanity.
Jacob's story records the difference between the two brothers, their choices and behaviors. Jacob's desperation to defend spiritual values in contrast to his brother who didn't care, reveals God's love in solving this terrible drama and transforming people. When it comes to Jesus, there are priorities not just for one person, but for His people! What God does for one, he also does for the other. And if God made it for the other, it also reverberates in me!
And the lesson of Bethel is that access to God is not attained by human hands, but through divine means, through the ladder that is Jesus Christ!

Have you ever been baptized by fire?

The fire that is on the altar will burn in it, it will not be quenched; but the priest shall burn wood on it every morning, and set the burnt offering in order on it, and burn the fat of the peace offerings on it. The fire will burn continually on the altar; will not go off. Leviticus 6:12,13

We are priests to God, I Peter 2:9
We are temples of the Holy Spirit, 1 Corinthians 3:16
We need God's fire, Matthew 3:11

The old man needs to be burned, Romans 12:1, Ephesians 4:22-24

When all the fat is burned from our life (pride, selfishness, vanity) we will be at peace with God. Isaiah 27:5 says that we can take hold of God's strength and make peace with Him. We urgently need to stop lighting strange fire, with the tongue spitting fire when talking to the family, rude words, loud voice, curses, curses. As long as our fire is burning, I Thessalonians 5:19 says that the Holy Spirit is quenched (quenched).

Onyx

And he put them on the shoulder posts of the ephod as memorial stones for the children of Israel, as the LORD had commanded Moses. Exodus 39:7

Onyx or Onyx is a semi-precious variety of chalcedony quartz, striped in black and white. Among its varieties is Carnelian onyx, which has white and red stripes, and sardonyx, which has white and brown stripes.

God asked Moses to place onyx stones on the shoulder pads of the ephod (an apron over the priestly garment) and each one had the name of the children of Israel, set in gold, with engravings of a seal. The Onix stone connected the two parts of the apron.

In Ezekiel 28:13 it says that Lucifer was also adorned with precious stones and among them Onyx.

In Exodus 28:20 the fourth order shall be of a beryl, and of an onyx, and of a jasper; set in gold shall be in their settings. So the eleventh stone, as well as Joseph, one of the sons of Jacob, a type of Christ.

Jesus is the precious cornerstone and holds the key to life and death.

Scope Offer

Because they had enough material for all the work that was to be done, and there was still plenty of it.
Exodus 36:7

Moses asked the people to bring freewill offerings to the sanctuary, verse 5 says they brought much more than they needed. In verse 6 Moses forbade bringing offerings because there was too much.

Heighted Offering is the same thing as Lifted up, it means an offering to meet a specific need, other than a tithe (tenth part) of your income and possessions. Different from covenant of offerings for common church expenses.

Will man rob God? Yet ye rob me, and say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings. Malachi 3:8

Let each one give as he has purposed in his heart; not with sadness, or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. 2 Corinthians 9:7

We know that nothing is ours, everything we have is from God, Psalm 24, we are stewards. We buy food, materials with the currency of labor. The body being the temple of the Holy Spirit, we are not our own, I Corinthians 6:19,20. So why do we retain what is not ours? Jesus said that the poor would always have with us, to test our character, to measure our selfishness.

Tithe and offering being a matter of worship. Can we go empty handed? If a person has no salary, but ate that week, did he keep some for the needy?

Are we taking an offering to the point of Adventist Social Assistance saying enough is enough, that we have nowhere to put it?

Zealous, like father, like son

For thou shalt not bow down to another god; for the name of the Lord is Zealous; he is a jealous God. Exodus 34:14

Originating from the Greek “zélos”, this word was also used to describe a state of ardent dedication and care of someone towards another person. In some cases, this word can also be used to describe a methodical person, very applied in some task or activity.

The expression "the zeal of the Lord of hosts will do this" Isaiah 9:7, means that God does not forget his promises, indicating things that will surely be fulfilled. It is also possible to mention that in this case, zeal is not only care but also jealousy. God does not share His glory, praise and worship with others, and He is jealous when His people do not put Him first in their lives. In 2 Corinthians 11:2, the apostle Paul says, "My zeal for you is a zeal that comes from God," which means that God's children should also be zealous.

In Zechariah 8:2 “Zion for Zion with great zeal; and with great indignation I am watching over her.”

For the remnant will come out of Jerusalem, and those who escape from Mount Zion; the zeal of the Lord of hosts will do this. Isaiah 37:32

When Jesus entered the Temple and drove out the animal sellers, they remembered what is written, “the zeal of thy house has devoured me” John 2:17, Psalm 69:9. What are we selling in our hearts in exchange for the Word of God? Allow Jesus into your heart to cleanse the corruption that takes God from the throne as the first place, we have a jealous God, your children should be too.

Face to face is walking with God

And the Lord spake unto Moses face to face, as any man speaketh to his friend; then he returned to the camp; but his servant, the young Joshua son of Nun, never departed from the midst of the tent. Exodus 33:11

The people had been evil in the eyes of God, making a golden calf to worship. Today's chapter says they were a stiff-necked people (does not bow the neck), verse 3. In Exodus 32:7-14 defines stiff-necked as disobedience. Moses interceded for the people, telling God that the Egyptians would give a bad witness that God brought his people out of Egypt to kill them in the desert. God's answer was, I regret the harm I said I would do to the people. Destroying everyone.

Although verse 11 says that the Lord spoke to Moses face to face, it is a poetic way of saying that He spoke to Moses, "as a man speaks to his friend." In Exodus 33:20 it says that Moses could not see the face of God if he would not die. Verse 23 confirms that Moses saw God from behind.

Today God wants to speak to us face to face as he opens the Bible. When we do this our neck bends, don't be stiff-necked, with your nose in the air (proud) thinking you know what's best for your life. Only Joshua stood before the tent of meeting after Moses had entered and spoke to God in the cloud. If you stop to read what the prophet says instead of bowing your neck just for the cell phone, verse 17 says that God will find grace and know us by name, so that everyone will know that God walks with us, verse 16.

God wants to talk to us, what will we bring to Him?

This will be a continual burnt offering throughout your generations, at the door of the tent of meeting before the LORD, where I will meet you there, to speak with you there. Exodus 29:42

There are five main types of sacrifices, or offerings, in the Old Testament. The burnt offering (Leviticus 1; 6:8-13; 8:18-21; 16:24), the meal offering (Leviticus 2; 6:14–23), the peace offering (Leviticus 3; 7:11–34 ), the sin offering (Leviticus 4; 5:1–13; 6:24–30; 8:14–17; 16:3–22), and the guilt offering (Leviticus 5:14–19; 6:1 – 7; 7:1-6).

Voluntary offer

Holocaust (bull, bird or bullock) Demonstrating commitment to God or unintentional sin
Meals: (cake, bread, flour, oil, salt, wine) Show gratitude for God's provision
Peaceful: (any animal from the immaculate herd or grain or bread). Demonstrate thanksgiving and fellowship, followed by a shared meal.

Mandatory Offer

Sin (a bullock, a goat, a goat, a dove or 1/10 of an ephah of flour). Purpose to atone for sin and cleanse from corruption. Every animal given to God, separated by fat and liver and kidneys.
Guilt (Heifer). Purpose unintentional sin, purification from unholy sin or physical ailments.

The sacrifices in the Old Testament pointed to the perfect and final sacrifice of Christ. As with the rest of the Law, sacrifices were "a shadow of things to come, but the body is Christ's" (Colossians 2:17). Christians today recognize Christ's atoning death on the cross as the only necessary sacrifice for sin, offered once for all (Hebrews 10:1–18). His death opened the "Holy of Holies" to us (Hebrews 10:19–22) so that we could freely enter God's presence and offer our "sacrifice of praise" (Hebrews 13:15; cf. 9:11–28; 4:14—5:10).

A perfeição da criação divina!
O pecado desfigurou e não temos noção exata sobre o que significa "belo" ou "bom". Mas a natureza e a própria Palavra de Deus dão sinais claros da mão do Criador e Sua constante dedicação na restauração plena assim como era no princípio.
O evento da criação é o fundamento principal para a fé humana em Deus e o relato da criação em Gênesis é histórico e nele contém importantes lições espirituais e teológicas sobre Deus e os seres humanos.
E o sábado é o grande memorial da criação, pois ao considerá-lo, eu reconheço que Deus é o Criador e Jesus o meu Salvador e Redentor!

Good Morning!

sanctification

And thou shalt make a plate of pure gold, and engrave on it like the engravings of seals: HOLINESS TO THE LORD. Exodus 28:36

Leviticus 20:26 "And ye shall be holy unto me: for I the LORD am holy, and I have set you apart from the peoples, that ye should be mine."

Without sanctification we will not see God Hebrews 12:14

“Hear me, O Levites! Sanctify yourselves now, and sanctify the house of the LORD, the God of your fathers, and put filthiness out of the sanctuary” (2 Chronicles 29:5).

2 Corinthians 7:1 – “Beloved, since we have these promises, let us cleanse ourselves from everything that defiles body and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.”

1 Peter 1:15 - "But just as he who called you is holy, so you also be holy in everything you do."

Leviticus 11:44 – “For I am the LORD your God; consecrate yourselves and be holy, for I am holy. Do not make yourselves unclean with any animal that moves along the ground.”

1 Thessalonians 4:7 – “For God did not call us to uncleanness, but to holiness.”

Is the majority right?

Thou shalt not follow the multitude to do evil; nor shall you speak in a lawsuit, taking part with the majority to distort the law. Exodus 23:2

The popular maxim “the majority is right” is a dangerous support for Democracy, a word of Greek origin, demo (people)+cratic (power), a regime of government in which the people exercise sovereignty. The problem is when the decision is based on emotion rather than logic, following the aphorism “the heart has reasons that reason itself does not know”.

What about decisions in the past where the majority supported that the earth was flat or that it was the center of the universe. Those who are not willing to passively submit to a heteronomous legal order, and seek the ideal of intellectual autonomy, personal integrity, freedom to choose their own attachments and needs, what alternatives do they find for decisions based on the rule of law? majority?

Why did the majority choose Barabbas? Barabbas doesn't bother us and even seems to be fighting for our aspirations for freedom. And most are looking for the kind of freedom that is represented in the political, economic, social struggle of Barabbas. However, Christ must continue to be crucified because He bothers us. He demonstrates with full conviction that the kind of freedom we seek in Barabbas cannot free us from the bo***ge of our own sin and Satan's dominion. He points out the need for conversion by transforming our own hearts.

Do we follow the crowd, backed by science? Do we take part in the majority from the heart?

✝️ SUMMARY OF SABBATH SCHOOL

*Stay in brotherly love*

VERSE: "Let brotherly love be constant" (Heb 13:1)

The truth is, we were created to love one another. It's in our DNA, despite our sin-tainted blood. Hence, throughout the letter, the apostle repeatedly exhorted the Hebrews: "Cheer up one another daily."
See that the world has an influence on our attitudes, especially for money and s*x and we are prone to sin. However, the Holy Spirit and He alone knows how to influence us to make a difference in people. After all, the Word of God is alive and effective and sharper than any two-edged sword.
And finally, the lesson urges us to have successful collaboration between leaders and members so that we have a single focus on the message: the salvation of the lost!

Happy Sabbath Day!!

*The God we serve is no respecter of persons*.
He who gave Solomon the spirit of wise discernment is willing * to share the same blessings with his children today *. “If any of you lack wisdom,” declares his Word, “let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not, and it shall be given him.” James 1:5.

When he who bears an oppressive burden desires wisdom more than riches, power, or fame, he will not be disappointed. * Such a person will learn from the great Master not only what to do, but how to do it in such a way as to achieve divine approval*.

Proving our faith

And Moses said unto the people, Fear not: God is come to prove you, and that the fear of him may be before you, that ye sin not. - Exodus 20:20

After God had spoken the ten commandments and the people heard thunder, horns, smoke, lightning, they retreated away from the mountain. They were afraid to die, verse 23.
So, God repeated the warning of verse 3,4 not to worship images, not to have other gods.

A balanced message - Let no one present the idea that the human being has little or nothing to do in the great work of winning; for God does nothing for man without his cooperation. Let's not even say that, after having done everything possible on our part, Jesus will help us. Said Christ, "Without Me ye can do nothing," John 15:5. From beginning to end a person is to be a co-worker with God. Unless the Holy Spirit works in the human heart, at every step we will stumble and fall. Human efforts, independently, are nothing but nullity; but cooperation with Christ means victory. [...]
Let us never leave in our minds the impression that there is little or nothing to do on the part of the human being; let us rather teach him to co-operate with God, so that he may succeed in overcoming. Effort and work are necessary on the part of the recipient of God's grace; for it is the fruit that makes manifest what kind of tree. Though human good works, without faith in Jesus, are of no more value than was Cain's offering, yet, covered with the merit of Christ, they testify to the worthiness of the doer to inherit eternal life. What in the world is considered morality does not meet the divine standard and has no more merit before Heaven than did Cain's offering. - Chosen Messages 1:379-382

There is very little moral power in the professed Christian world. Bad habits have been tolerated, and physical and moral laws have been disregarded, until the general standard of virtue and piety became exceedingly low. Habits that lower the standard of physical health weaken mental and moral forces. Tolerance of perverted appetites and desires exerts a controlling influence on the nerves and brain. Carnal tendencies are strengthened, while morals are weakened. It is impossible for the intemperate to be a Christian, for his higher faculties are held captive by desires (Testimonies for the Church, v. 3, p. 47 [50, 51]).
