In 2013, as Cory graduated from college with a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, we had no idea where life would take him. He had struggled to live away at college depending on hired caregivers for his physical needs. He had suffered a collapsed lung from a bout with pneumonia, lost chunks of hair due to stress, broke his leg in a car accident, had a feeding tube for a while due to his rapid weight loss, and somehow still managed to graduate with honors with a huge smile on his face. He then began to apply for marketing jobs but no one seemed interested. Finally one job interview gave him hope. After getting a call from a company in Pittsburgh stating that they were very interested in his resume, and wanted to meet with him ASAP in person to possibly bring him onboard, Cory was super excited. After shuffling money around that we didn’t have, off we flew to Pennsylvania. As Cory rolled in to the job interview, the suited man looked him up and down seeing only his wheelchair and said, “This job isn’t right for you, it requires lots of travel.” And the man turned and walked back out of the room. Cory was devastated. His worst fears had came to the forefront. He wondered if would ever get a job. Needless to say he and I both cried the entire flight back home.
Now, if that man is reading this and remembers that moment and realizes it was him who said this…Cory is a world renowned award winning Travel Blogger and the joke is on him now. ❤️🥰♿️✈️
Funny how life works out. Never give up on your dreams.
