Be pro-active, be the energetic film director and main actor of your life, especially after sixties when you are supposed to be “wiser” and have more time for everything that really interests you, and for new, presumably exciting enterprises as well ?
If we are looking at Dr. Michael Lam’s TOP 10 ANTI-AGING DO’S for a healthy and long life, here is what we find:
1. take our supplements every day, but we will need to discern which ones are the best for us
2. put ourselves on a good antioxidant program, but again, which one or ones are the most suitable, effective and devoid of side effects for us ?
3. consider herbal therapies to treat your ailments, which is good, because herbs are not harmful and do not usually have side effects, but there is such a wide choice, that we may find it difficult to select them and make them match each other, especially if we suffer from more than one ailments
4. eat at least five servings of fresh fruits and vegetables a day, which is a simple to obey order, provided that you are well organized and take it seriously…
5. incorporate high fiber into your diet, which is simple to follow provided you make up a list of your favourite fiber foods
6. eat lots of fish, which is feasible for all those who have always eaten fish by way of local tradition, and more difficult for people come from countries like Romania where the traditional and most widely consumed meat is pork…
7. exercise regularly, which requires a major change for all those whose whole life, was sedentary
8. relax in order to reduce stress, but we cannot be sure whether a computer game for instance is relaxing or the other way around
9. maintain a positive attitude, which is certainly possible in a country where the rule of law functions and less so in a society where legislation is subject to interpretation, whereas the judicial system is corrupted and seems to be tailored for thieves and evil-doers to the detriment of their victims
10. visit your doctor for medical problems, which in theory can be done; eventually solve your problems to a greater or to a lesser extent, depending on the levels of medical service and performance, on the effectiveness of drugs, and, very often, on how seriously ill you are, and on your mere luck…
