Not every big reaction is defiance… sometimes it’s a tantrum.
Tantrums are a normal part of development. They happen when a child is overwhelmed by frustration, wants something they can’t have, or doesn’t yet have the skills to manage disappointment. Even though it can feel intense, your child still has some level of control in these moments.
This is where boundaries and connection work together. Your child is learning that feelings are safe, but not every behaviour is.
Understanding tantrums helps you respond with calm, consistency, and confidence — not confusion or guilt.
