La începutul acestui an, Uniunea Medicală Balcanică a lansat umbalk.ro, o platformă de e-learning cu cursuri EMC online pentru toți medicii din România. Această platformă va pune la dispoziția medicilor de diverse specialități, dar și altor categorii de profesioniști din domeniul sănătății, cursuri gratuite creditate EMC de către Colegiul Medicilor din România, cu teme interesante și diverse, utile pentru practica zilnică.
Prin parcurgerea cursurilor online de pe platforma umbalk.ro medicii beneficiază de acces la informație științifică de calitate actualizată, conform celor mai noi ghiduri și practici medicale internaționale, într-un format dinamic și accesibil. Materialele cursurilor sunt redactate de experți în domeniul respectiv, cadre didactice cu o bogată activitate și expertiză. În urma finalizării fiecărui curs și autoevaluării online, medicii obțin certificatul de absolvire cu creditele EMC aferente.

The 34th Balkan Medical Week

The Balkan Medical Union is a nongovernmental organisation founded in Bucharest on the 24th of October 1932, and has the following aims:

To study the Balkan’s region specific disorders and the most appropriate curative and prophylactic attitude; to provide assistance in the promotion and achievement of the best measures that ensure the highest level of health in this geographic area.
Networking and acknowledgement of the scientific activity, as well as keeping its members in contact and in a friendly relationship.
To cultivate a medical humanist and humanitarian awareness among its members.

Students may actively participate to the congress, with posters. In order for the abstracts of their posters to be published, the students must pay the congress fee of 50 RON, to fill and send the registration form before August 22. The deadline for sending abstracts for the 34th Balkan Medical Week has been extended until August 22, midnight. After this deadline, no abstracts will be accepted.

The reduced congress fee (until August 20, 2016) is 250 RON for specialists and 50 RON for residents. After this deadline, the congress fee will be 300 RON for specialists and 100 RON for residents. All the presenting authors have to pay the congress fee and to register for the congress. One paid registration allows a maximum number of 3 published abstracts.
