On my last trip to Morocco, I met Chloe - this French woman staying at the same guesthouse as I did. We didn’t seem to have much in common, yet we went for dinner together, she was watching the soccer game, I was simply enjoying my food.
We got talking and in the next days connected deeper. She told me how she keeps coming back to Morocco, again and again. I asked her why. She said…that it reminds her that life doesn’t have to be so serious.
I looked at her and smile, knowing that was exactly my reason of being there. Cutting myself some slack, starting the year in a place that didn’t ask me to perform. Space to breathe. No agenda. No wonder, I got my first tattoo that same week, after more than 15 years of questioning it.
Some places remind you that life is for living.
We sat on the beach, watching the sunset sharing a pot of tea and smiling. I might never see Chloe again, but I am forever grateful for our encounter.
You may ask, why I am sharing this here…maybe you too need that reminder, or moments in a place that allows you to breathe, turn a stranger into a confident and a simple conversation into a life lesson.
And if this is the case, drop me a message, about that week we have planned in Morocco - we thought of everything - time to rest, food that nourishes, little adventure, a bit of challenge and play.
Yes, I am talking about The Big Exhale - 26th April - 3rd May.
Hope I’ll see you there
