CELEBRATING 6 YEARS of the VERY BEST in Human Nature, Celebrating 6 Years of Nightscout!

“I would say Nightscout began on John Costik's driveway Saturday August 24, after a delightful evening with his family. I was in Rochester sailboat racing, and it was the first time John and I had met in person.

We talked about the personal risks of getting sued (and in my case, fired as chief engineer at Medtronic Diabetes) if we combined our code and open-sourced it.

We talked about how it was unfair for other families not to benefit from this transformative technology, and decided the community benefits outweighed our personal risks.

It took a few months of gestation and hard work along with Ross Naylor before Nightscout was born - and open-sourced - at Amy Tenderich's DData 2013. Howard Look and Brandon Arbiter were among the very first to use the newly open-sourced code.

The rest, as they say, is history."

If you have ever received information or help online at our main group 'CGM in the Cloud,' you owe a big thanks to Jason Adams. Five years ago today, (April 27th), Jason created our wonderful and amazing group from which we could all collaborate, Pay It Forward, and support each other in our new found quest to minimize the burden of Type 1 diabetes through DIY technology.

What began as a few individuals and families, now numbers in excess of 68,000 people worldwide, and the number of DIY solutions has grown as well.

From North to South and from East to West, this is the place we congregate so we can get more rest ;)

Ne bucurăm că un proiect susținut si de noi beneficiază de recunoașterea meritată! Centrul de telemedicină în diabetul pediatric, proiect demarat împreună cu Asociatia Sprijin Pentru Diabet, a primit Premiul Publicului la categoria “Inovație în spriijinul pacienților” din cadrul Galei Premiile COPAC 2018. Felicitări!

Istoria Nightscout in Romania coincide cu inceputurile CGM-urilor (senzorilor de monitorizare continua a glicemiei) in Romania.
Primul pacient din Romania monitorizat la distanta, folosind Nightscout, de catre doamna doctor Mihaela Vlăiculescu a fost VLAD ANDREI G .
După Vlad (avea 3 ani atunci), am făcut (Catalin Bogdan, Mihai Popa, Dan Farcas si eu) peste 300 de site-uri, ceea ce inseamna ca sunt cel putin 300 de familii care pot vedea glicemiile copiilor lor de la distanta.

Va rog, acum, sa votati la Gala Copac 2018 oamenii care s-au implicat in toate acestea, fara de care nu ar fi existat multe din instrumentele ce ne usureaza viata:
