Virabhadrasana II
is a strengthening pose that improves physical and mental endurance.
The pose creates length in a series of muscles, including the pectoralis major, biceps, front-leg hamstrings, and back-leg psoas and gastrocnemius and soleux complex. It also requires balance and steadiness and is sometimes referred to as side lunge or skandasana.
